Imagine a human spinal cord (vertebrae) as a coiled spring. 
A spring pushed down is coils tightly based on the force applied and when that force is not applied stretches back to its original form.
Our bodies are designed live under the force of gravity. Well back in primary school we were told gravity is g = 9.80665 m/s2 (but to be honest this depends on location...topic for another day).

### <center><p>Well you guess it right...go to the outer SPACE&#128514;&#128514;&#128514;</p> </center>
Well if you can afford it...simply because there is microgravity pushing against your spinal cord.

### According to NASA: 
> There is less gravity pushing down on the vertebrae, so they can stretch out - up to 7.6 centimeters (3 inches).

### If still think is not true well...
> Japanese astronaut Norishige Kanai, on a mission to the International Space Station, apologized on Wednesday for saying he had grown 9 cm (3.5 inches) while in space and expressing concern about whether he'd be safe on his return to Earth.
"My height's been measured here in space and somehow, somehow, I've grown 9 cm! In only three weeks I've really shot up, something I haven't seen since high school," he tweeted.

### Well later he later apologized as he got the measurements wrong, he had only grown 2 centimeters tall.

### <center><p>Well if you can't afford to go to space then try this:</p> </center>

Measure your height before you go to sleep then record it. Then in morning measure again to see if there is any difference. 

> You will find that you're about a centimeter or two taller. That's not as much as astronauts change in space. The idea, however, is the same. As the day passes, your vertebrae compress through normal activities, and you'll lose those few centimeters you "grew" overnight.
