Mainly programmed in Ruby, and available on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, Fluentd is an open source data collection tool that analyzes clickstreams, event logs and application logs. It is used as an [alternative to Logstash](http://artemstar.com/2017/03/19/log-shippers-part2/). 

> Fluentd was built with the purpose of solving the problem of a logging mess, when you have a whole lot of scripts which collect data from various services, possibly do some parsing and transformation and output it to a bunch of different backend systems.
