# Hello Hive

<div class="text-justify">For a good while now, I have been trying all I can to learn the act of public speaking. The internet has made it easy for us to approach anyone online with so much ease and confidence because they are not physically close to us, but times will come when we have to present ourselves at public events and in positions of authority where we have no choice but to be confident and lead others.

We are having an upcoming youth event in church, and for someone who has never addressed the public as an adult, I have been giving them some due responsibility. You can imagine how I feel right now.

Preparing a short sermon or charge to address my group, the speech, my appearance, and what my performance will be like is already giving me a fright, and even though the program is a week away, I feel anxious and shaky already.

I talked to a friend about it yesterday, and she gave me some helpful tips. One of the tips is for me to make my appearance a quality one, from my hair to my clothes and shoes. Don't forget, "Add some perfume to your clothes," he has repeatedly told me. 
Once you have some good speech, try to complement it with your best appearance. 



What can a quality appearance be like?

I search out my closet to look for what you wear, knowing that advanced preparation can save me from a wardrobe malfunction. After a thorough check, I realized that I have worn almost all my clothes to church before, and maybe appearing in something new will be fair.




I got this fabric from my baby sister and used it for a project earlier on. It is soft and light, and I love the flowery pattern. Since it is a youth evening event, this will go perfect on a pant or skirt.
I decided to cut it and see what I could make of it.





A wrap with flair sleeves is what my heart settled on.

I placed it on the front and added some allowance for where to form the wrap.

I had wanted to mix some black fabric with it but decided against that; adding black will dull the appearance of the cloth, and I want this to be bright and beautiful.

Hence, I have used red bias to align the overlapping front with the sleeves and edges of the clothes.

I could have experimented with doing this in black to make a comparison if I had extra fabric. Often times, I love to explore different sides of color-mixing creativity to see which effect is better. All of these things keep playing in my head and with my imagination, but sewing and making it physical will just make it easier to pick from any set which one appeared better.

I feel satisfied and will be sewing another top—maybe a line of two or three blouses—for me to have something to choose from. This is done for now, and I still have a few minutes to work on the next blouse.</div>
