Childhood memories are memories that stay forever—those days when we do not have to think about what to eat or things to do until we are adults and everything changes. When I was a child, I used to be shy. And I'm an introvert; I won't dispute that fact, but either way, there's no way you won't have a friend. So basically, I have a few friends that I enjoy making memories with.

I could remember everything we've done together to date because it's unforgettable. One of the memories we had was building a house with clay soil and calling it the house of birds.  We took it so seriously because that's all we did then, and it's unforgettable. I will never forget how we built a cake for birds. We normally go to the bush, and there's a particular wood we use for these cages, and the purpose of these cages is that we use them to capture a bird so we can rear it. There are lots of things we did; most of them are crazy stuff, but it's been an unforgettable experience so far.


My childhood friends are my neighbors; they are all one family, and we happen to love each other so much. Azeezah, Aminat, and Azeez Azeezah happens to be the elder sister, while Aminat and Azeez follow. We went to the same school together. Their mother happens to be a friend of my parents, and the bond between us is so strong. The bond between us is strong to the extent that we do almost everything together.


 My parents happen to be people who don't like their children going to another place to eat or doing anything that is beyond their control. But the relationship between us and them is serious enough for my parents to allow me to eat their food, and their children do come to our house to eat with us.


One good thing I love about this family is that they are so simple and easygoing. I fell in love with all of them, and the bond is so strong. We all change schools and go to the same school; we play together, eat together, and do everything together as children.
As time goes on, we are growing up, and then one very good day, Azeezah called me and told me they would relocate to another place very soon. I couldn't believe her because I know she plays a lot.


It wasn't a joke; her mom called my parents and told them the same thing: they needed to move to another state for now, and from there they might leave the country anytime soon. This is when I felt really broken. I meant that the only friend I ever had was going, and they were all going at the same time.
A week after they said that they packed away from the house and left for another state, from my state to their state is like a 10-hour journey, if not more. It's really not somewhere I can run to. We lost connections and contacts. I really got broke, and I have never set my eyes on them since then; it's been over 17 years now. I hope they are fine.
 
What will happen if I eventually see them again? Of course, I will be extremely happy, and one of my wishes is to get to see them again. I know the ladies would have gotten married. But it will be so nice to see those beautiful families again.
