Esa tarde estábamos en casa de la abuela,una casa grande con un pasillo largo, aún era de día,mi hermano mayor tenía unos 17 años aproximadamente, yo tenía unos 8 años. Nos encontrábamos en el comedor cerca de la cocina, yo no dejaba de mirar como mi hermano jugaba solo con las cartas de la abuela, ajiley creo que se llamaba el juego, no estoy seguro, pero él barajaba  y picaba y repartía a un compañero imaginario, que luego de ver sus propias cartas se dirigía a las cartas del compañero imaginario y las estudiaba.

Después se disponía a apostar una cierta cantidad de dinero real, y de ese modo siempre le ganaba a su adversario. Pero como no ganarle siempre? además que el dinero que estaba apostando era de él mismo, es decir, no estaba ganando nada al final, solo la dicha de ganar "supuestamente".

Mi abuela notó lo que estaba haciendo y lo miró con desagrado y con una voz muy molesta le dice "deja de jugar con el diablo, tu no estas jugando solo como crees, tu estas jugando con uno de esos diablos, te va a pasar una vaina si lo sigues haciendo, ya no te digo más nada", luego de eso se fue a visitar a una de sus hijas que vivía a unas cuadras.

Quedamos solos en la casa de mi abuela mi hermano mayor y yo, no había más nadie, se nos había olvidado el aviso de la abuela, o regaño, y yo seguía viendo como él jugaba solo con sus cartas, no sé cuantos minutos pasarón desde que mi abuela se fue, pero alguien tocó la puerta de entrada y ambos nos levantamos a ver quien era para abrir, mi hermano dejó la jugada en la mesa para regresar y seguir con la apuesta. Al asomarnos por la ventana no vimos a nadie, abrimos la puerta y salimos y no encontramos a nadie ni cerca de las casas vecinas. Nos vimos la cara y nos encogimos de hombros, "que importa".

Al regresar a la mesa donde estaba mi hermano jugando notamos que algunas cartas estaban movidas y el dinero no estaba, ni una sola moneda, ni un solo billete, no había nada... ni rastros de ello. buscamos debajo de la mesa, cerca, en los pasillos, tratamos de encontrar alguna explicación, bueno él trató, yo la verdad no entendía muy bien que estaba pasando, pero recuerdo que mi hermano estaba pálido revisando la puerta del patio a ver si alguien había entrado o algo. Rápidamente recogió las cartas las guardó me tomó de la mano y me sacó de la casa, nos fuimos a la casa donde estaba mi abuela a unas cuadras cerca. 


Mi abuela cuando nos vio y notó el semblante de mi hermano dijo "ya imagino que paso, hablamos en la casa", yo me quedé sorprendido de como siempre sabía lo que pasaba sin que nadie diga nada. Nunca hubo una explicación lógica para esa situación, aún hoy no sabemos que pudo haber pasado de manera racional. 

Según mi abuela, el diablito reclamo su dinero y se lo llevó, y por eso no se debe jugar solo.

Then he would set out to bet a certain amount of real money, and that way he always beat his opponent. But how not to always beat him? also that the money he was betting was his own, that is, he was not winning anything in the end, only the happiness of winning "supposedly".

My grandmother noticed what he was doing and looked at him with displeasure and with a very annoyed voice said "stop playing with the devil, you are not playing alone as you think, you are playing with one of those devils, you are going to have a Well, if you keep doing it, I won't tell you anything more, "after that he went to visit one of his daughters who lived a few blocks away.


We were alone in my grandmother's house, my older brother and I, there was no one else, we had forgotten grandmother's warning, or scold, and I kept seeing how he played alone with his cards, I don't know how many minutes have passed since that my grandmother left, but someone knocked on the front door and we both got up to see who it was to open the door, my brother left the play on the table to return and continue with the bet. When we looked out the window we did not see anyone, we opened the door and went out and we did not find anyone not even near the neighboring houses. We looked at each other and shrugged, "What does it matter."

When we returned to the table where my brother was playing, we noticed that some cards were moved and the money was not there, not a single coin, not a single bill, there was nothing ... no traces of it. We looked under the table, nearby, in the corridors, we tried to find an explanation, well he tried, I really didn't understand very well what was happening, but I remember that my brother was pale checking the patio door to see if someone had entered or something. He quickly picked up the letters, put them away, took me by the hand and took me out of the house, we went to the house where my grandmother was a few blocks away.

My grandmother when she saw us and noticed my brother's face said "I imagine what happened, we talked at home", I was surprised how she always knew what was happening without anyone saying anything. There was never a logical explanation for that situation, even today we do not know what could have happened in a rational way.

According to my grandmother, the little devil claimed his money and took it, and that's why you shouldn't play alone.
