비트코인에게 체인 분리는 나쁜일이지만 거래소 입장에선 환영할만한 일입니다. 빗피넥스가 포크를 준비했습니다. https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/195/review 아직 포크가 일어나기 전인 지금, BCC (비트코인 코어) 와 BCU(비트코인 언리미티드) 를 거래할 수 있습니다.   아직은 마진거래는 안되지만 거래량이 많아지면 마진거래 기능도 추가하겠다고 합니다. 2017년 12월 31일 까지 포크가 안일어나면 BCU는 가치가 0 이 되어 사라지며 BCC 보유자에게 BTC가 같은 금액으로 지급됩니다. BCC와 BCU로 스플릿을 했다가도 그걸로 다시 BTC를 사들이면 손해나 이익은 개인의 몫으로 남겨진 채 스플릿한 것은 취소가 되는 셈이 됩니다.

체인분리가 작게 한번 일어났지만 무슨 체인이 맞는 체인인지 논란의 여지는 없었고 바로 해결되었던 적이 있습니다. https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0050.mediawiki 이렇게 논란이 되는 포크는 (아직 발생하진 않았으나) 큰 위기로 보입니다.
