চশমা ব্যবহার করে, পুলিশ অপরাধী দরবে।

আইন শৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীর চোখ ফাঁকি দিয়ে অপরাধীর ঘুরে বেড়ানোর খবর নতুন কিছু নয়। কখনো কখনো আসামিকে চিনতে না পারায় পুলিশের চোখের সামনে দিয়েই পালিয়ে যায় তারা। কিন্তু চীনের পুলিশ আর চোখের সামনে দিয়ে তাদের শিকারকে পালিয়ে যেতে দিতে রাজি নয়। এ কারণে তারা ব্যবহার করছে অদ্ভুত ক্ষমতার এক চশমা। এই চশমার ভেতর দিয়ে কারো দিকে তাকালে তার হাঁড়ির খবর পেয়ে যাচ্ছে পুলিশ। ঠিক যেন সায়েন্স ফিকশন মুভি!
 
এই চশমার উদ্ভাবকরা জানিয়েছেন, পুলিশ হয়তো সন্দেহবশত কারো নাম ঠিকানা জিজ্ঞাসা করছে। সে যে উত্তর দিয়েছে তা সত্যি কিনা তা পরীক্ষা করতে চশমার ‘ফ্যাক্ট চেক’ বাটনে চাপ দিলেই মুহূর্তের মধ্যে চোখের সামনে ওই ব্যক্তির নাম, ঠিকানা, নাগরিকত্ব, জাতীয়তা, তার নামে কোনো মামলা আছে কি না, অপরাধের কোনো অভিযোগ আছে কি না ইত্যাদি ভেসে উঠবে। স্রেফ ‘সন্দেহভাজন’ হিসেবে কাউকে ধরে থানায় নিয়ে হয়রানি করার দরকার পড়বে না। পুলিশের কাজ এত সহজ করে দিয়েছে এই চশমা।
 
কিভাবে এত সহজে কোনো ব্যক্তির সবকিছু খুঁজে চোখের সামনে নিয়ে আসে এই চশমা। এই প্রকল্পে যুক্ত এক গবেষক জানান, পুরোটাই বিজ্ঞান। এটা যাদুর চশমা নয়। চশমাটিতে ‘ফেস রেকগনিশন’ প্রযুক্তির সফটওয়্যার ইনস্টল করা আছে। এই সফটওয়্যার চশমার সামনে থাকা ব্যক্তির মুখের ডিজিটাল প্রতিকৃতি তৈরি করার পর ইন্টারনেটে ঢুকে সেন্ট্রাল ডাটাবেজে সার্চ দেয়। সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই সে সব কিছু পেয়ে যায়। পুরো তথ্য চশমার স্ক্রিনে জুম করে দেখায়। এছাড়া চশমাটি নিজেও কোনো ব্যক্তির মুখ দেখে পুলিশ ডাটাবেজে খুঁজতে থাকে ওই ব্যক্তি পুলিশের কাছে ‘ওয়ান্টেড’ কিনা। তাদের কাছ থেকে পালিয়ে বেড়াচ্ছেন কি না। তেমনটি হলে সংকেত দিয়ে ওই ব্যক্তিকে ধরিয়ে দেয়। এভাবে অনেক অপরাধী ধরা পড়েছে বলে পুলিশ জানায়।
 
চীনে ‘মুখ চেনা’ প্রযুক্তি এখন বহুল ব্যবহৃত হচ্ছে। অনেক এলাকায় যেসব বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আবাসিক হলে বহিরাগতদের ঢোকার অনুমতি নেই সেখানে এমন প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহার করে কেবলমাত্র বৈধ বাসিন্দাদের ঢোকার অনুমতি দিচ্ছে। এছাড়া এটিএম বুথ থেকে টাকা তুলতে গেলে ডেবিট কিংবা ক্রেডিট কার্ডের মালিক ছাড়া আর কেউ পাত্তা পাচ্ছে না। অর্থাৎ একজনের কার্ড চুরি করে পিন নম্বর জানা থাকলেও আরেকজন টাকা তুলতে পারছে না। ভবিষ্যতে তারা এই প্রযুক্তির আওতা এমনভাবে বাড়ানোর পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে যাতে জালিয়াতির সব সুযোগ একেবারেই বন্ধ হয়ে যায়।-দ্য টেলিগ্রাফ।
