<div class="text-justify"><p>One of the outstanding debts we had with the truck after its purchase, was the correction of some elements in the brasswork that in principle were not of main interest because they did not affect the operation, but from the aesthetic point of view could be a nuisance. From the moment of the negotiation, we were focused on the mechanical part to be as healthy as possible and the truth is that in a large percentage it has been, in fact, as a result of that we saw the economic opportunity to make corrections to the brasswork and therefore to the painting of some sectors of the truck.</p></div> <div class="text-justify"><p>Below, you will see the parts of the truck that presented problems in the brasswork:</p></div> <div class="text-justify"><p>The one I consider the most serious was the one covering the left side of the trunk. It had absolutely no putty on it for a long time and even the metal was already rusted. This problem from my point of view was the one that deserved the most attention.</p></div> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"><p>Additionally, the metal on the rear sides showed corrosion by water and of course by time. This is not a minor problem because if I did not attack it in time, it could continue to rust and become worse and worse.</p></div> <center></center> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"><p>Finally, both the front and rear fenders were damaged. It should be noted that these are not made of metal but of a type of plastic that I really do not know, but they still needed to be restored.</p></div> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"><p>So, the first thing we did was to go to a place specialized in painting cars, where the technician had to go out to see the paint of the vehicle to prepare the mixture. I must say by the way that I find this job quite interesting. After trying about three times, the technician found the right one and frankly it was totally the same as the original paint of the truck.</p></div> <div class="text-justify"><p>In addition to the paint, other elements such as filters, tinner, putty, sandpaper, transparent and other elements normally used for this type of work were purchased.</p></div> <center></center> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"><p>That same day the metal parts that showed corrosion were cut and replaced with a metal that was even thicker than the original metal of the truck. It was welded, cut and ground according to the shape it should have, I must say that in that aspect I was very satisfied and in the final result you will see why I say so.</p></div> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"><p>Then, putty was applied in the areas that required it and sanded until the desired texture was obtained. I must admit that it was a rather slow process, putty was applied and sanded about 4 times, but what mattered was the final result.</p></div> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"><p>Regarding the part of the trunk that had rust, it was ground and putty was applied until the desired shape, for that we had to remove the glass. Then, it only remained to apply the paint and the transparent that would give the bright and shiny tone that we were looking for.</p></div> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> #### <center>The final result</center> <div class="text-justify"><p>This is the final result after applying the paint and clear coat, as you can see, the parts are fully restored and with the correct color, frankly the result is remarkable.</p></div> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <center></center> <div class="text-justify"><p>The truth is I don't know if this is the most professional way to work these things, but I must say that who did this job is a very talented person because although some of the resources and materials used are not those you find in a professional brass and paint shop, I'm very happy with the result.</p></div> <div class="text-justify"><p>I would have liked to paint the whole truck, but that will be for another opportunity since the investment will obviously have to be much higher. For the moment, we are happy with the result and there is nothing more to do with the brass work. It was a pleasure to share.
