Guatemala က Bitcoin Lake ဆိုတဲ့ project တစ်ခုဟာ Atitlán ကန်ထဲစွန့်ပစ်မယ့် ဟင်းချက်ဆီတွေကို သုံးပြီး bitcoin mine နေပါတယ်။ Atitlán ကန်နားအနီးတဝိုက်က လူနေရပ်ကွက်တွေမှာ သုံးတဲ့ ဟင်းချက်ဆီတွေဟာ ဒီတိုင်းသွန်ပစ်လိုက်ရင် ကန်ထဲကိုစီးဆင်းသွားမှာဖြစ်ပြီး ရေထုကို ညစ်ညမ်းစေမှာကြောင့် ဒီဆီတွေကိုစုဆောင်းပြီးတော့ bitcoin mine တဲ့နေရာမှာ စွမ်းအင်တစ်ခုအဖြစ် အသုံးပြုနေတာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ 

လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့၅နှစ်တာကာလအတွင်းမှာ Atitlán ကန်ကို သန့်စင်ဖို့အတွက် $300 million ကုန်ကျခဲ့ပြီးတော့ မအောင်မြင်ခဲ့ပါဘူး။ ဒါကြောင့် ရေထုညစ်ညမ်းမှုကို တစ်နည်းနည်းနဲ့ လျှော့ချဖို့အတွက် ရည်ရွယ်ပြီးတော့ ဒီ project ကို စတင်ခဲ့တာဖြစ်ကြောင်း founder Patrick Melder က ဆိုပါတယ်။ ဒီ project ကနေ machine generated energy တွေထုတ်တာဖြစ်လို့ ရေထုတော့ မညစ်ညမ်းစေပေမယ့် Carbon dioxide ဓာတ်ငွေ့တွေထွက်တာကြောင့် လေထုတော့ညစ်ညမ်းပါတယ်။ 

ဒါပေမယ့်လည်း တစ်ဖက်ကပြန်ကြည့်ရင်တော့ project မှာသုံးထားတဲ့ ပစ္စည်းတွေအားလုံးဟာ recycle ပြန်လုပ်ထားတဲ့အရာတွေချည်းဖြစ်တာကြောင့် ကုန်ကျစရိတ်တော့ တော်တော်လေးသက်သာသွားပါတယ်။
