My Experience With Racism

Wether we like it or not racism is real and you can come across with racist people at your job or somewhere. I think one of my worst experiences with racism was when I was a venue manager. I had assigned this one lady’s event to an African American event assistant, and when I introduced them she looked him up and down and was like, no, I would like you to handle it. And I was like, I don’t have any availability for that date, which is why I’ve assigned it to an event assistant. And she starts looking around for someone else and I’m like, is there a problem? And she says, in front of him, that she’s just not sure he can pull off the kind of event she is hosting. And I was like, yeah, no worries, you won’t be hosting any events here. Good day, ma’am.
