Hello friends of the Weekend-experiences community, I hope you are well and receive this new month with excitement and hoping for the best in life 💫. Today I want to join #weekend-engagement with a question that caught my attention and I thought it was interesting to address in this post. Is being an extrovert or introvert okay or should I change so that others can accept? This is something that I have often wondered and seen as a problem in my personality.

**Are you confident and outgoing or shy and reserved? Explain either way and also how that aspect of your personality has worked well or badly for you in your adult life.**

I come from an upbringing where I was allowed to be a child and do things when I was supposed to do them, every stage has its changes and I have never felt pressure to be different or change, at least that's how I have felt with my close family and I find a lot of confidence in my home with my mom and my siblings. But this is not something that everyone sees as normal, as many times I prefer to be reserved than to always seek the attention of others and growing up in a home where there is so much tranquility can be a problem when you face a world full of different realities and people who develop in other ways.

My personality was always that of a fairly quiet and shy person, especially in my study time, I was not very close to my classmates but there were several that I really appreciated and I hope they are well at this time although we no longer have communication. Of course this shyness brought me problems to develop myself and I was very panicky about having to expose in my classes and show my tastes for fear of rejection, although I was not a victim of any kind of abuse by my classmates I always stayed away from the dramas and problems, this is why I was told that I was a very "serious" person.

As I passed my twenties I began to find myself in conflict with what I saw in my day to day life, I had a very rigid thinking about the behavior of others because in my world where everything was quiet and peace nothing that had to do with gossip or other people's dramas entered, that made me look like someone strange and different, for this reason I do not have friendships with a really strong bond because it is difficult for me to open up and be totally me with others. Although I have matured and now I know that not everyone likes us, in the midst of my shyness there is always the excitement of meeting new people and trying new hobbies.

So I think that my personality is that of a shy person but with the right company I can loosen up and open my feelings. I don't think it's a bad thing to be shy, it's part of any person's personality and we should respect when someone is different even if we don't understand their way of being or thinking. But I also have moments where I want to socialize and meet others, the human being can not be alone all the time although I feel self-sufficient I know that it is always necessary to have that group or support network, those people with whom I can count on for the good times and the difficult ones. That is my personality, a combination of shyness and authenticity ☺️.
