One of the major attractions of the City Rome is the Vatican. It is a dream of many to visit the Vatican once in their life. I had seen Vatican city in movies so far and then visiting it in real was like a dream come true. I had seen it in 2 movies Angels and Demons and the Spectre, and qas quite fascinated by the place. Not only that some time back a friend of mine had visited the Vatican and she had mentioned about the beauty and grandeur of the place, after which I always wanted to visit it once. She had also bought quite a few Angel figurines from there which were really some unique pieces. This was also on my agenda.

It was a hot day when we visited, I was safely carrying my umbrella everywhere to beat the strong sun, specially towards mid day it would get bad. 

The outside arena of the Vatican is huge, an ariel view would do a lot of justice to give you a good glimpse of the place. The Vatican city is the smallest city in the world, actually when you visit it, you feel it is a part of Rome only. This place is all about the history of Christianity. The St Peter's Basilica is in the Vatican city and  it is one of the magnificent Basilica of the world. The Vatican is where the Pope resides. This is the considered to be one of the most holiest place for the Christians.

This is the outside arena, the place is huge. Would need one full day to spend here. We spent almost the whole day and then with this also visited the Vatican Museum.

The Oblesik in the St. Peter's Square in the Vatican city. The cross at the top of the obelisk today is said to have certain relics of Jesus Christ.

These are some images from the Saint Peter's Basilica. Honestly I do not know significance of everything here, but found it all very marvelous and kept wandering how all of these things were built in ancient times with so much precision and such amazing architecture and art work. It is some 500 to 600 years old now and beats up every new so called modern marvels.
