Sleeping with your head in North, Is it a Myth?
There are a lot of times when things are not going right in our life and then there are all these different consultations that we make to find out why things are not going in the right direction for our life. Suddenly someone will ask you, which is the direction you sleep and say if you are sleeping with your head in North direction you will say north. Immediately the person will tell you, Oh see this is the root of all problem. You should never sleep with your head in north direction, it’s not good. You will ask why it is not good, and the person says it brings bad luck to you..

Now is it really that sleeping with head in North direction brings bad luck, I would fail to understand anything that does not give me sufficient reasons and so does this theory if it has to not substantiate with something meaningful. Sleeping with the head in North direction is for sure not good but there is a science to it and nothing superstitious about it.

***So these are some tips as per the Vaastu***

We know of the magnetic fields on the planet, the North Pole and the South pole. When you sleep your pulse rate drops then the normal what it would be when you are engaged in your daily routine. The body automatically makes these adjustments. 

If you are in the Northern hemisphere and if you sleep with your head in North direction, there will be a magnetic pull which will cause a pressure on the brain. Iron is one of the important ingredient in our blood and when it comes in contact with the magnetic forces it gets pulled towards it. Magnetic forces are strong and if your blood vessels are weak they will create a direct impact on your brain with the high pressure built up with the continuous placement of head in the north direction. If your systems are strong enough still you will have an impact, because of the pressure on your brain, you will get up with agitation and irritation cause of the excess circulation. A daily dose of this keeps adding up and eventually you see things getting messed up in life due to your own behavior and capacity issues.

Now the same applies for those in the Southern hemisphere, they should not sleep with their heads in South direction because it will bring the same impact. 

***Also this is not the sole reason, there can be multiple reasons for ill health and disturbances but this can be one of it.***

This is not a one day or a few days process, but yes if your constant sleeping position is North then there is a impact you may feel over a period of time.

So there is nothing superstitious about North sleeping direction, its pure science. When you get up in the morning, immediately you can do some wrist movements. The nerves are heavily concentrated in the hands and with some hand and wrist movement you activate the body and start the day with a healthy fresh body and mind.

According to me its just a myth, its the first time i heard about this. If we take a look at past, people had more peace in their mind as compared to us because they had very less number of desires i.e just work, eat and sleep. Whereas, we have lots of desire like to live a luxurious life, money, cars , houses  and much more and when we can't fulfill these desires we seem to be frustrated and irritated. As no experiments or proofs are mentioned so this theory or phenomenon doesn't carry much weight with it.... Its just my point of view about these kinds of phenomenon's.

Ah, mum's been going on with me for ages about this sleeping with head pointing in a specific direction stuff for years...didn't lend it much credence at the time, but ever since I became spiritual, I started to recognize certain things about would-be 'superstitions' like these, and it all makes a lot more sense now. I'd never heard the scientific theory though, so I'm walking away from your post with one of the final pieces of the puzzle. The only thing I'm wondering about is this; what if you live in a place like South India, which doesn't particularly seem to incline North *or* South with regards to the hemispheres...is there a more equatorial line along one which must sleep? Or is it okay to sleep just about any direction if you could confirm you're bang on the equator? I'd love to know more :D

Also, thinking of getting a circular bed in the future (when I have money) that rotates on an axis when laid on...that way, anyone laying on it wouldn't get any one side's pull for too long before the opposing side acted on them :P

Or is that a bad idea as well? :o

Hi @nainaztengra,

Well there are many superstitious beliefs exist in every religion of the world. For example;
If black cat crosses your path then something bad is going to be happen with you 
If crows chirp on the roof of your house then guests are coming to you.
If  you awake late night and go to near the fire place it will destroy your fate.
If you throw garbage back side of your home then you are inviting ghosts etc etc. 

So my take on this is: Yes you are right in this particular scenario of sleeping in any specific direction. 

Let me share the ISLAMIC Theory with you according to which :
One should sleep on side by putting one's right hand under his head. It controls your blood vessels and blood pressure. This position gives you an overall ease while sleeping. 

As you mentioned  ;

> We know of the magnetic fields on the planet, the North Pole and the South pole. When you sleep your pulse rate drops then the normal what it would be when you are engaged in your daily routine. The body automatically makes these adjustments.
>If you are in the Northern hemisphere and if you sleep with your head in North direction, there will be a magnetic pull which will cause a pressure on the brain. Iron is one of the important ingredient in our blood and when it comes in contact with the magnetic forces it gets pulled towards it. Magnetic forces are strong and if your blood vessels are weak they will create a direct impact on your brain with the high pressure built up with the continuous placement of head in the north direction. If your systems are strong enough still you will have an impact, because of the pressure on your brain, you will get up with agitation and irritation cause of the excess circulation. A daily dose of this keeps adding up and eventually you see things getting messed up in life due to your own behavior and capacity issues.

>Now the same applies for those in the Southern hemisphere, they should not sleep with their heads in South direction because it will bring the same impact.

>Also this is not the sole reason, there can be multiple reasons for ill health and disturbances but this can be one of it.

They way you put awareness among the mass is appreciable and i do believe your logic is very much authentic of sleeping position and direction.

Wow.i did not know that the position you slept in can affect your health tremedously,although i cannot say i constantly sleep in the north or south direction but its really good to learn about this and thereby prevent it.So i guess sleeping in the west or east direction is preferably.Thanks for sharing,totally informative
