Psychological terror is one of the genres that I have always considered can be very good or very pretentious, in recent years films like those made by the director and screenwriter _**Ari Aster**_, created a good base of followers and detractors, this has made other directors and writers want to show the public their projects where they can show originality of their stories and even make some tribute to classics from other times that influenced the formation of what they want to do in the world of cinema; I have always liked this type of genre in horror because I think they go beyond the norm, creating good stories, with good characters and giving you something to think about after they are finished.

El terror psicológico es uno de los géneros que siempre he considerado que puede ser muy bueno o muy pretencioso, en los últimos años films como los hechos por el director y guionista _**Ari Aster**_, crearon una buena base de seguidores y detractores, esto ha hecho que otros directores y guionistas quieran mostrar al público sus proyectos en donde podrán mostrar originalidad de sus historias y hasta hacer alguno homenaje a clásicos de otras épocas que influyeron en la formación de lo que quieren hacer en el mundo del cine; este tipo de género en el terror siempre me ha gustado porque creo que salen de la norma, creando buenas historias, con buenos personajes y dar que pensar después de finalizadas.

**"The Lodge"** is a good psychological horror film, a well told story with excellent images and good performances, its premiere was in February this year and it was very well accepted by the critics, but because of the pandemic its performance in theaters was not the best; This movie shows a young woman who is engaged to a man who is the father of two children, they will take a trip to celebrate Christmas together as the new family in a lodge far from the city, but in that trip loneliness and distance will test the mind and religious beliefs of this young woman and that may affect her new family life; a well developed story in the 108 minutes of duration that deals not only with the subject of religion (which is important) but also the power of manipulation of anyone underestimating how strong mentally can be.

**"The Lodge"** es un buen film de terror psicológico, una historia bien contada con excelentes imágenes y buenas interpretaciones, su estreno fue en el mes de febrero de este año obteniendo muy buena aceptación por la crítica, pero a causa de la pandemia su desempeño en las salas de cine no fue el mejor; esta película vemos a una joven mujer que está comprometida con un hombre quien es padre de dos niños, ellos realizaran un viaje para celebrar las navidades juntos como la nueva familia en un cabaña alejada de la ciudad, pero en ese viaje la soledad y el distanciamiento pondrá a prueba la mente y las creencias religiosas de esta joven mujer y eso podrá afectar su nueva vida familiar; una historia bien desarrollada en los 108 minutos de duración que trata no solo el tema de la religión (que es importante) sino también el poder de manejar a cualquiera persona subestimando que tan fuerte mentalmente pueda ser.

_**Veronika Franz**_ and _**Severin Fiala**_, both directors and co-writers together with _**Sergio Casci**_, did an excellent job directing and creating a very realistic and scary story;I have read different opinions indicating that religion as a weapon of manipulation is the main theme, I believe that the main theme is that of manipulation far above religion, I believe that when a person is deprived of what motivates them to live they can create a mental break and be susceptible to any idea that can affect their existence, this film takes a lot of that because manipulation is the cause of many things that happen in this film,  In this case, we can see a woman who wants to maintain her family life and can do what is necessary to be taken into account in one way or another, we also see of course the religious manipulation which will always be tested to be worthy in front of God, to show our worth and not be sinners following the commandments which in the end will always be dictated by a man who dominates himself as a pastor; Only in these two characters do we see the directors and screenwriters demonstrate how the manipulation of maintaining a correct image in order to be part of a family or sect will affect the minds of these women with very different end results.

_**Veronika Franz**_ y _**Severin Fiala**_, ambas directoras y co-guionistas  junto a _**Sergio Casci**_, realizaron un excelente trabajo en dirección y creando una historia tenebrosa y muy realista; he leído diferentes opiniones indicando de que la religión como arma de manipulación es el tema principal, yo creo que el tema principal es el de la manipulación muy por encima de la religión, creo que cuando a una persona se le quita lo que lo motiva a vivir puede crear un quiebre mental y ser susceptible a cualquier idea que pueda afectar su existencia, esta película toma mucho de eso porque la manipulación es el causante de muchas cosas que suceden en este film, está la podemos ver a una mujer que quiere mantener su vida familiar y que puede hacer lo necesario para ser tomada en cuenta de una forma u otra, también vemos por supuesto la manipulación religiosa la cual siempre estaremos a prueba para ser dignos al frente de Dios, mostrar nuestra valía y no ser pecadores siguiendo los mandamientos el cual al final siempre serán dictados por un hombre quien se auto-domina pastor; solamente en estos dos personajes vemos a las directoras y guionistas demostrar de como la manipulación de mantener una imagen correcta para ser parte de una familia o secta afectara la mente de estas mujeres con resultados finales muy diferentes.

The performances are very good from all the actors involved, of course _**Riley Keough**_ as "Grace Marshall", along with the young actors _**Jaeden Martell**_ and _**Lia McHugh**_, who play "Aidan and Mia Hall", are the most outstanding as they have the most time on screen, but I can say that the small role of _**Alicia Silverstone**_ as "Laura Hall" is very good. The work of _**Keough**_ playing a woman who has overcome growing up being part of a religious sect is the best, it shows mystery and discomfort and this makes the viewer never have the knowledge to know what he is feeling and thinking, she can show a facet when she is with "Richard" or when she is with the children, she is someone pretending to be another character in order to fit in and be taken as a normal person; The actors _**Jaeden**_ and _**Lia**_ do a great job, although I think that _**Lia**'s is better because of all the changes she has to live, her character has to be the one who suffers the most manipulation and the one who has to explore the sadness much more without knowing for sure the reason of each one of these situations, these interpretations and the development of this story is another example of the great work of the creators of this project, _**Franz**_ and _**Fiala**_.

Las actuaciones son muy buenas por parte de todos los actores involucrados, por supuesto que  _**Riley Keough**_ como "Grace Marshall", junto a los jóvenes actores _**Jaeden Martell**_ y _**Lia McHugh**_, quien interpretan a "Aidan y Mia Hall", son los más destacados al tener el mayor tiempo en escena, pero puedo decir que el pequeño papel de _**Alicia Silverstone**_ como "Laura Hall" es muy bueno. El trabajo de _**Keough**_ interpretando a una mujer que ha superado el crecer siendo parte de una secta religiosa es lo mejor, muestra misterio y incomodidad y esto hace que el espectador nunca tenga el conocimiento de saber que está sintiendo y pensando, puede mostrar una faceta cuando esta con "Richard" o cuando esta con los niños, es alguien pretendiendo ser otra personaje para poder encajar y ser tomada como un persona normal; los actores _**Jaeden**_ y _**Lia**_ hacen un gran trabajo, aunque creo que el de _**Lia** es mejor por todos los cambios que debe vivir, su personaje debe ser el más manipulación sufre y el que debe explorar mucho más la tristeza sin seguro saber el porqué de cada una de estas situaciones, estas interpretaciones y el desarrollo de esta historia es otro ejemplo del gran trabajo de las creadoras de este proyecto,  _**Franz**_ y _**Fiala**_.

From the moment I saw the trailer I wanted to see this film and even though I didn't have great expectations, I think the film surpassed the few I had, I really liked the different shots chosen by these directors, the photography is excellent and the many overlapping images exploiting the theme of religion, but as I have always said it lends itself to manipulating people's minds by forcing them to do what they think is right, Although it is a slow film, I think it has the necessary rhythm to prepare the spectator for its outcome and I do not agree with several opinions where it says that it is pretentious because I think it is the opposite, it does not seek to invent anything, I think it takes a story of how characters can live a life of terror where they can surrender to their traumas or try to overcome them by taking refuge in beliefs that can give them the strength to do things that may or may not be good. I recommend this film and even more if you are a follower of this genre in terror, also you can create many theories as to why many things happen even though it focuses more on the life of a woman who wants to have a real family, but maybe her choice is not different from what she had before.

Desde el momento que vi el trailer quería ver este film y aunque no tuve grandes expectativas, pienso que la película supero las pocas que tenía, me gustó mucho las diferentes tomas elegidas por estas directoras, la fotografía es excelente y las muchas imágenes superpuestas explotando el tema de la religión, pero como siempre he dicho se presta para manipular la mente de las personas obligando a hacer lo que se piensa que es correcto, a pesar de que es un film lento creo que tiene el ritmo necesario para preparar al espectador para su desenlace y no concuerdo con varias opiniones en donde dice que es pretenciosa porque creo que es todo lo contrario, no busca inventar nada, creo que toma una historia de cómo personajes pueden vivir una vida de terror en donde podrán rendirse ante sus traumas o tratar de superarlos refugiándose en creencias que podrán dar la fuerza para hacer cosas que podrán ser buenas o no. Recomiendo este film y más si son seguidores de este género en el terror, se pueden crear muchas teorías del porque suceden muchas cosas aunque se enfoque más en la vida de una mujer queriendo tener una verdadera familia, pero tal vez su elección no sea diferente a la que tenía anteriormente.
