I have been feeling a bit of an itch to get out more lately, having spent a few weeks around the holidays mostly inside, and plenty of time drawing and slowly fixing a sleeping pattern that was getting out of hand. Though this wasn't all that bad, the weather wasn't exactly ideal to be getting out into, especially for photography. We had some incredibly windy days and some rainy weeks that really didn't help with making me want to get out; though over time I did start to notice the season slightly changing and realised I should go for a walk and mix up the routine a bit. My DJI Mini 2 drone had been sitting idle for a while, looking at me from afar with disappointment having spent £500 on it only for it to mostly accumulate dust over the year. Unintentional, but something I was growing aware of. And wanting to jump out there with it even for a few minutes and capture some photographs if I could.

So, noticing today that the general time for sunset was quickly appearing, I grabbed my things and set out for a walk. A small adventure in hopes of capturing some photographs. Though I hadn't noticed that I had actually left things a little too late, and that my time with whatever light was left was growing thin. It didn't stop me, though. I walked through the countryside, noticing the really beautiful tones starting to appear as the golden light broke through the treelines, highlighting the fields and bushes around. It was really beautiful, and while very muddy, I felt pretty content that I had finally made the decision to get out. The air, due to the cold weather, has been very fresh. It felt good. Especially since the last few days I noticed I was feeling slightly off. Having this feeling of motivation to do things, and that it was a mixture of motivation to create, as well as concentrate. Though the energetic side of things made the concentrating at home side of things increasingly difficult. I'd sit and look out of the window telling myself I should take a walk, but the other side of me was saying to stay in, focus and get some things done. Though today I realised that the feeling wasn't going away. I wouldn't be able to concentrate if I didn't get out. 

I barely had enough time to shoot half a battery on the drone, however. The light quickly disappeared. And the drone's dynamic range isn't all that great. With plenty of shadows appearing, it was pretty difficultt to find something to shoot. So I pointed the camera at the sun and hoped I could capture some of the gentle tones coming from it in the horizon. These photographs aren't terrible, but nor great. But in the end the fun of getting out and giving myself a reason to do so, while still being creative, was something I definitely feel I needed. If anything, it just made me realise I should try to get out a bit more; my motivation to maybe even record videos and create some little fun short films again came back. Something different from the professional side of things. Newfound inspiration is always fun!
