Been on Steemit just short of 2 months and have been exploring and experimenting.
People do like photos and we have posted several with a few details on the subject, just the pictures, etc. Not big results, but keeps us going. It is cool to look at all the wonderful photos submitted. But seems I had something different in mind when I joined. Thought between my husband and I we would be able to contribute interesting and enjoyable content.
Had no clue how tough this is.
But today I am going to dig in. Change direction a bit and hope to produce content that catches the eye.
We'll just post whatever comes to mind on whatever subjects and see where we go.
We are the older crowd with grown children, grandkids, work experience, lived in several states. Surely we can relate some stories and share for entertainment, insight, humor. And our childhood memories would be ancient history to some of you😉
The memory is triggered in silly ways. And here is what I was thinking this morning and why.

We live on the corner of Babbitz Ave and Sweet St. My brother-in-law always said it was funny, sounds like it came from a fairy tale. Anyway, been here 7 yrs but I glanced up at the sign for the hundreth time. And when I looked at 'Sweet' I remembered Mr. Sweet. He was the first gentleman, and he was truly a gentleman, who asked my mom for a date after dad passed away.
He approached her at an event for a financial manager . She worked for him part time and was acting as hostess. She was terrified, embarrassed, nervous, you name it. Called me and asked me to come over by myself to discuss something serious. Not what I expected! She asked my permission to go out with someone??
She was concerned about my sister and I's feelings and opinion. We told to go for it.
But, I had to be there when he picked her up the first time. A little role reversal.
They did attend a few events together but she was unable to relax and enjoy. She tried. Dating wasn't going to happen. Too dedicated to dad.
A couple months later she received a post card from Mr. Sweet. He was traveling. Apparently he did not have her address. It was delivered in mom's name at 'The corner of Powers St. and New York Ave., Oshkosh, Wis.' It made it. Just a note saying hi and he would be in touch. Kind of quaint in 1999. And gentlemanly as well.
I hope someone enjoys and remembers something special today.
