What a mess

Three and a half birch trees.  We have 3.  Three fully mature and 1/2 in 'fallout' from the weather.

At the end of every windy day we have tons of twigs and small branches littering the yard.

As you can see, we have accummulated a nice pile of kindling for the fire pit.   Still a mess and lots of busy work to keep tidy.

However, beings the twigs are ice covered at the moment, guess the fire pit is just a dream for a bit longer.

I have two points to make:

1.  There could be people out there with only 1 or 2 birch trees that don't have enough kindling for their fire pit.  You're complaining about having too much.

2.  There are footprints walking on the sticks.  Wouldn't it be easier to pick them up if some were not broken by walking on them.

Anyway, I was just thinking that maybe you have not had a dose of sarcasm tonight.

I really do hope you defrost by June.

Now, now.  Treading on thin ice.  Ha.

And they are frozen to the ground and break if you try to pick them up, so there!  Dog walks wherever she wants, twigs or no twigs.  And, for some sarcasm back just for fun....if you didn't notice it would be hard to walk without stepping on one.

Thanks for the sarcasm and a grin.

Can we aim for a May thaw?  Got grandkid's baseball in June and won't have time to use up all that kindling.  I'll share.

I think your dreams of a May thaw could be in vain.  Around Indianapolis, we are at least two weeks behind on the hope of summer.  Normally by this time of the year I've cut the grass at least 4 times, this year I'm still waiting on the first one.  It's about ready to cut, but it has to wait since we have snow coming on Monday, 0.3 inches.  Any excuse not to cut grass!
