After a couple of days in which I have not been very productive, I am here today with a new post! This time about a video game that I saw out there and I really loved it, **Poly Bridge** is the title of this great video game and I'll tell you what it's about!

We can define **Poly Bridge** as a bridge construction simulator, one that stands out for its quite realistic physics and levels that are equally complicated, although some things in the video game can be somewhat surreal, perhaps like that time when they force you to make a bridge supported only by wood and over which a tractor can pass, or when they offer you a hot air balloon as support for a bridge xD. Or how about being asked to do a jump back?

And it is this surrealism that is probably what makes **Poly Bridge** attractive. The game makes you go through complicated levels, so you as a player come up with solutions in a complicated way, but no. Most of the levels have such a simple solution that it sometimes seems ridiculous.

A great example is the following bridge, where you had to get two vehicles to the other part of the river, first one up a platform and then another should reach the bottom, on this bridge I suffered a lot, so I tried to do a drawbridge that the first car would drive over, then lifted up and the second would drive over.

The problem with this solution arises from the fact that in order for the first car to pass we must raise the bridge, which creates an angle of inclination that makes the bridge become an arch when you connect it to the lower part of the other side of the river, so when the part of the bridge that goes up is raised, the bridge loses its support in the center and collapses, in the end the solution was just to make the bridge that went up and make the final part rise, so that the second car simply fell on its target. (It's not like cars can be broken in this game xD.)

> Tengo 4 días haciendo este post, Dios mío, la fiebre mundialista me ha tenido atado al televisor y  las noticias, YouTube y tantas cosas, pero al fin tome algo de fuerzas y me dije, Lewuis, vamos amigo, ya basta, has algo productivo, así que al fin termine mi post, se los dejo por acá!  

Tras un par de días en los que no he sido muy productivo llego hoy con un nuevo post! Esta vez acerca de un videojuego que vi por ahí y realmente me encanto, **Poly Bridge** es el título de este gran videojuego y les cuento de qué va!

Podemos definir a **Poly Bridge** como un simulador de construcción de puentes, uno que destaca por sus físicas bastante realistas y niveles a la par de complicados, si bien algunas cosas en el videojuego pueden llegar a ser algo surrealistas, quizá como esa vez en la que te obligan a hacer un puente soportado solo por madera y sobre el cual pueda pasar un tractor, o cuando te ofrecen como soporte de un puente un globo aerostático xD. ¿O qué tal que te pidan hacer un salto hacia atrás?

Y es este surrealismo es probablemente lo que hace atractivo a **Poly Bridge** el juego te hace pasar entre niveles complicados, entonces tu como jugador te planteas soluciones de manera complicada, pero no. La mayoría de los niveles tienen una solución tan simple que a veces parece ridícula.

Un gran ejemplo es el siguiente puente, donde tenías que hacer llegar dos vehículos a la otra parte del rio, primero uno hacia arriba de una plataforma y luego otro debería llegar a la parte baja, en este puente llegue a sufrir mucho, pues intente hacer un puente levadizo sobre el que pasara el primer auto, luego se levantara y pasara el segundo.

El problema de esta solución nace en que para que pase el primer auto debemos levantar el puente, lo cual crea un ángulo de inclinación que hace que el puente se vuelva un arco cuando lo conectas a la parte baja del otro lado del rio, entonces cuando se levante la parte del puente que va hacia arriba, el puente pierde el soporte que tiene en el centro y se desploma, al final la solución era solo hacer el puente que iba hacia arriba y hacer que se levantara la parte final, para que el segundo coche simplemente cayera sobre su objetivo. (No es como que se puedan romper los coches en este juego xD.)

Pero obviamente los puentes si se pueden romper, de todas las formas posibles y por todos los errores posibles, si no tiene soportes se cae, si lo que sea que pasa por encima del puente es muy pesado puede hacer que se caiga, si lo que sea que va sobre el puente va muy rápido e inclinas mucho el puente se puede romper, mucha inclinación hacia arriba sin tomar en cuenta las ruedas de nuestro coche, tracto o lo que sea, hará que en vez de lograr subir por el puente, choque con él, mucha inclinación hacia abajo hará que el objeto permanezca un buen tiempo en el aire antes de tocar el puente. Entre más tiempo en el aire, más velocidad, más fuerza y al momento del impacto muy probablemente se desplome el puente.

Es importante calcular ciertas cosas, inclinación, fuerza, velocidad, entre otros, un buen ejemplo es el siguiente nivel donde se nos propone un salto bastante largo, no puede solo ser hacia arriba por los globos que bloquean el paso, puede ser hacia abajo, pero caería muy rápido el objeto antes de llegar al otro lado, solo disponemos de 7 partes de camino, por lo que no podemos hacer un puente que conecte un lado al otro. Yo solo use 6. Mira como lo hice!

Estuve un rato haciendo la primera rampa, de tal modo que al saltar sobre ella el automóvil quedara de manera inclinada en el aire, y pasando por abajo del globo, luego de eso coloque un camino debajo del globo, lo conecte con otro y coloque cuerdas, claro, no puede ponerse el camino de forma estática, pues al caer el coche destrozaría el camino y las cuerdas, por lo cual lo coloque el camino de forma inclinada, algo que también es complicado pues debes pensar en lo mucho que se va a balancear este camino antes de que el coche haga contacto con él.

Pero puedes lograrlo! Es un acertijo bastante interesante, si bien puedes hacer que el coche llegue de muchas maneras, la idea es que nada se rompa y lo hagas todo dentro del presupuesto, un puente perfecto y barato! Aunque a veces tienes puentes que te bridan mucho presupuesto para que te pongas creativo, sin embargo otras veces…

Se te propone hacer puentes que parecen ilógicos, al menos en relación costos y complejidad, un buen ejemplo es este puente levadizo en el cual tienes que pasar tres autos, el primero en pasar debe subir al segundo nivel y luego llegar al otro lado, por el primer nivel, el segundo debe hacer todo lo contrario y el último auto debe hacer lo mismo que el primero, una locura a primera vista, algo simple si lo piensas un poco.

El verdadero problema de este puente llega a la hora de calcular el presupuesto, vamos, solo con los caminos y los hidráulicos se te va más de la mitad, entonces pones la cuerda y ya te queda bastante poco, tenía más madera puesta para soportarlo pero al final no era necesaria tanta en realidad, deje solo los soportes que ven, y hasta tuve que recortarlos al final, todo me pareció un milagro cuando vi que aun funcionaba, y de forma tan perfecta.

Amigo, solo puedo decirte que **Poly Bridge** es un videojuego que funciona de manera perfecta, posee un concepto simple, vamos, que más simple que un simulador de creación de puentes, cualquiera pensaría que es tan simple y mundano que no tendría sentido para ser usado como idea para un videojuego.

Comienzas, haces un tutorial bastante inútil si tomas en cuenta todo lo que veras más adelante y aprendes lo básico, colocar caminos, y un par de soportes.

Luego haces tú primer puente colgante, que es exactamente igual al de madera, pero con cuerdas y entonces se te enseña a hacer tu ultimo tipo de puente, uno levadizo, un puente exactamente igual a los otros, pero con la diferencia de que se levanta, para esto usas un soporte especial que puede contraerse y expandirse, además de colocar una división en alguna parte del puente, Como resultado tu puente “especial” y lo digo de manera irónica porque especial será lo que hagas más adelante, con pocos recursos y bastante creatividad.

Ahhh también se te enseña a hacer un salto, pero esto ni vale la pena nombrarlo, lo que se te explica es tan simple, que no tiene sentido xD, todos los saltos de este juego son súper complejos y en este tutorial solo se te enseña a inclinar un par de caminos y colocarles un par de soportes, vamos, no te pido que me resuelvas los otros puentes, pero para este tutorial la verdad no hubieran hecho nada xD.

Sin embargo este tutorial simplista es algo que hace especial al juego, te da un primer vistazo a lo que deberás hacer, te coloca como un bebe ante la vida, aprendiendo a caminar,  en los primeros niveles veras como creces, aprendes a caminar y haces tus puentes más simples, algunos de manera perfecta, equilibrados y especiales.

Tendrás fallos tontos quizá, algunos donde harás las cosas mal a propósito, una analogía perfecta de las primeras etapas de la vida donde se te permite fallar y puedes hacer las cosas mal a propósito sin alguna consecuencia.

Pero luego vendrán los retos amigo mío, los verdaderos retos, donde hayas crecido y debas afrontarte a la vida adulta, cuando debas crear los puentes y saltos más irreales de este juego, verdaderas maravillas de la ingeniería que te harán sentirte como un arquitecto de verdad. (En caso de que no seas uno de verdad xD.)

Oh man, the world cup is very exciting and I can understand you. This game was a very interesting experience for me. I saw my friend playing it a few years ago and I wanted to try it. It was very cheap and I bought it. For a couple of levels everything was fun, but after that it was completely awful! I couldn't pass any levels and I deleted the game so I wouldn't get angry. You seem to be doing very well so far.
