Sumido en la profunda de la nada. La oscuridad es lo único que habita en mis pensamientos; me encuentro inmóvil con la absoluta nada, escucho sonidos guturales a mi alrededor que cada vez se escuchan más y más cerca de mí, hasta que de repente despierto y noto que me encuentro en ese asqueroso pantano, todavía sangrando por la herida de bala que recibí al escapar de prisión.

Sin hacer mucho ruido con la púa que siempre cargaba para defenderme hurgo dentro de la herida en mi brazo izquierdo, hasta que logro sacar el pedazo de metralla que tanto me estuvo molestando en el trayecto y con mi camisa hice un vendaje y aguarde hasta que llegara mi fin o mi salvación.

Después de una hora sentí que todo estaba más tranquilo al mi alrededor y decidí que era momento de buscar algo de agua o comida, pues la pérdida de sangre ya me estaba golpeando fuertemente.

Pero ese asqueroso pantano solo emanaba muerte y enfermedad no importa hacia donde me moviera y sin más vi unas luces y me lance rápidamente al agua, eran los oficiales desgraciados todavía me andaban buscando, ahora no tenía otra opción más que sumergirme dentro de ese asqueroso pantano cuando vi que las luces se acercaban, respire tan profundo como pude y me hundí.

Apenas unos segundos pasaron cuando sentí que dos personas se acercaron al pantano y la luz de linterna se movía por arriba de donde me encontraba, apenas había pasado 1 minuto y yo sentía que era una eternidad, cuando uno de los oficiales decidió que era buen momento para orinar justo arriba de mí.

Estaba a punto de rendirme cuando se escuchó un fuerte sonido como el de una alarma que hizo que los oficiales se detuvieran en el acto y comenzaran a correr de regreso permitiéndome salir y poder tomar un poco de aire.

El hecho me genero bastante sorpresa, pero preferí ignorar el sonido y continuar avanzando, hasta que en un momento me encontraba en lugar natural y menos pestilente recubierto con mucha vegetación al lado de lo que parecía una tubería de agua, la cual después de un par de golpes se partió y comenzó a brotar agua limpia. 

Sentía que la vida regresaba a mi cuerpo con cada sorbo, no sabía si era de noche o de día la vegetación y el ambiente no eran los mejores para identificar la luz del sol a la luna. Encontré una rata y con hierba media mojada y ramas  utilicen toda mi suerte para encender los cerillos que me quedaban y que prácticamente perdieron su utilidad cuando entre al pantano.

Después de varios intentos fallidos encontré la gloria tras un poco de humo rezando de que nadie notara el fuego, cocine rápidamente un poco de la carne de la rata y unos hongos que encontré para poder conseguir algo de energía y mientras masticaba el primer trozo de carne, note que agua en el pantano se comenzaba a mover.

Apague rápidamente el fuego arrojándole barro arriba y me puse en guardia detrás de un poco de maleza cuando de pantano comenzó a salir lentamente algo que nunca espere, un enorme tigre con sus ojos amarillos que me miraban fijamente solo conseguí  soltar un poco de aire lentamente cuando este comenzó a comerse la carne de la rata y luego de dar unas vueltas alrededor se acostó en donde hace unos minutos se encontraba el intento de fogata.

Note que no mostró hostilidad y decidí bajar un poco la guardia, ya que no podía irme, pues me encontrarían apenas saliera, sentado viendo al tigre comencé a pensar que probabilidad existía de que justamente ese día en ese momento aparezca un tigre y más aún que posibilidad había de que siguiera con vida al día siguiente.

Después de unas cuantas  horas…

Seguía en el mismo lugar ya no podía con mi cuerpo y mis ojos  se cerraban con cada cabezazo que daba gracias al sueño que Morfeo me generaba, el tigre se quedó dormido y yo caí del cansancio, me levante  después de un largo rato y el tigre también estaba despierto observándome fijamente vi una luz salir por el lado contrario y decidí dirigirme a ella y mientras más me alejaba el tigre solo me observaba hasta, que llegue a un lago en donde me sentí más calmado y comencé a subir en dirección contraía a la corriente de un riachuelo.

Cuando por fin creí estar libre una voz de mando me erizo la piel era unos oficiales que me ordenaban detenerme a lo lejos pensaba y  yo sin pensar mucho comencé a correr y fue un solo disparo, tal vez el de un rifle de caza el que traspaso mi pulmón derecho y con mis últimos respiros vi a los hombres que se acercaron a mí; eran cazadores que habían sido notificados por el avistamiento de un tigre en los alrededores y los guardabosques habían hecho sonar la alarma la noche pasada para que los civiles se retiraran por su seguridad algo que no sabía, pero intuí tras mi muerte sin más.

Submerged in the depths of nothingness. Darkness is the only thing that inhabits my thoughts; I find myself motionless with absolute nothingness, I hear guttural sounds around me that are heard closer and closer to me, until suddenly I wake up and notice that I am in that filthy swamp, still bleeding from the bullet wound I received when I escaped from prison.

Without making much noise with the pick that I always carried to defend myself I rummaged inside the wound in my left arm, until I managed to remove the piece of shrapnel that was bothering me so much on the way and with my shirt I made a bandage and waited until I reached my end or my salvation.

After an hour I felt that everything was calmer around me and I decided it was time to get some water or food, because the loss of blood was already hitting me hard.

But that filthy swamp only emanated death and disease no matter where I moved and without further ado I saw some lights and I quickly threw myself into the water, they were the unfortunate officers still looking for me, now I had no choice but to submerge myself into that filthy swamp when I saw the lights approaching, I breathed as deep as I could and sank.

Barely a few seconds passed when I felt two people approaching the swamp and the flashlight was moving above where I was, barely 1 minute had passed and I felt it was an eternity, when one of the officers decided it was a good time to urinate right above me.

I was about to give up when there was a loud sound like an alarm that made the officers stop on the spot and start running back allowing me to get out and get some air.

The fact generated quite a surprise, but I preferred to ignore the sound and continue moving forward, until at one point I was in a natural and less smelly place covered with lots of vegetation next to what looked like a water pipe, which after a couple of blows broke and began to sprout clean water. 

I felt life returning to my body with each sip, I did not know if it was night or day the vegetation and the environment were not the best to identify the sunlight to the moon. I found a rat and with half wet grass and branches I used all my luck to light the matches that I had left and that practically lost their usefulness when I entered the swamp.

After several failed attempts I found the glory behind some smoke praying that no one noticed the fire, I quickly cooked some of the rat meat and some mushrooms I found to get some energy and while chewing the first piece of meat, I noticed that water in the swamp began to move.

I quickly extinguished the fire by throwing mud on top of it and I stood on guard behind some undergrowth when from the swamp began to slowly come out something I never expected, a huge tiger with its yellow eyes staring at me, I only managed to let out some air slowly when it began to eat the meat of the rat and after circling around it lay down where a few minutes ago was the attempt of the campfire.

I noticed that he did not show any hostility and I decided to lower my guard a little, since I could not leave, as they would find me as soon as I went out. Sitting down and looking at the tiger, I began to think about the probability of a tiger appearing that very day at that moment, and even more, what was the possibility that it would still be alive the next day.

I was still in the same place I could no longer with my body and my eyes closed with every headbutt I gave thanks to the sleep that Morpheus generated in me, the tiger fell asleep and I fell from exhaustion, I got up after a long time and the tiger was also awake staring at me, I saw a light coming from the opposite side and I decided to go to it and the farther I went the tiger just watched me until I reached a lake where I felt calmer and began to climb against the current of a stream.

When I finally thought I was free a commanding voice made my skin crawl, it was some officers ordering me to stop in the distance I thought and without thinking much I began to run and it was a single shot, perhaps from a hunting rifle that pierced my right lung and with my last breaths I saw the men who approached me; They were hunters who had been notified of a tiger sighting in the vicinity and the rangers had sounded the alarm last night for the civilians to withdraw for their safety, something I did not know, but I sensed after my death without further ado.
