I finally finished reading the Steven Pinker new book. I was impressed by the number of charts and data that he used to explain his idea of how the world now is getting better, we are healthier than before, happier, wealthier, freer and we live longer (Agree, as a diabetic, I think I would be dead younger than now if I was born 100 years earlier 😀). The progress of science and technology made our life much better, but why we don't talk about that? Why the world seems to be a hell place? It's because the media in general prefer to talk about negative things, scandals, genocides, wars, oppression... People are not interested in knowing that in one city, there was no crime happening right now 😀. .

The humankind is constantly evolving, Steven Pinker see that populism is an obstacle in the progress way, he criticizes Donald Trump politics from declining climate change to racism and fascism behavior. And he think that humanism is the way to keep the progress goes on..

I liked this book, it feels good to see things from a new angle, to put yourself in the line of the historical events and realize that maybe we are born in the best time to be alive in. But to be honest I can't be as optimistic as Steven Pinker, I know he's a psychology profess in Harvard and he made an outstanding job collecting informations, but can we really win the battle against entropy ? That is the question I can't help myself but to ask for an answer for it 😀

나는이 책이 마음에 들었고, 사물을 새로운 각도에서 바라보고, 역사적인 사건에 귀를 기울이고, 우리가 살아야 할 최적의시기에 태어났다는 것을 깨닫게되었다. 그러나 솔직히 말해서 나는 할 수 없다. 스티븐 핑커만큼 낙관적 인 자세를 보였습니다. 하버드에서 심리학자로서의 자격이 있다는 것을 알고 그는 정보 수집에 탁월한 능력을 보였습니다. 그러나 엔트로피와의 전쟁에서 정말 승리 할 수 있습니까? 그것은 내가 스스로 도울 수는 없지만 그것에 대한 답을 구하는 질문이다.
