**Hello, anime fans.** This time, I bring you the first of several anime TOP lists of different genres that I am preparing for you. As some of you may already know, last year **I watched more than 100 anime series**, something I mentioned in a post a while ago. Of all the anime I have watched, I have only reviewed a few and shared them with this community. But for those of you looking for more than just a simple recommendation, I have these lists of anime from certain genres that are popular in this industry.
Last year, when I was just starting out here at **Hive**, I shared several TOP lists I had prepared for anime from 2023. In them, I talked about different fantasy, isekai, action, science fiction, and romance anime that I liked. **The idea this time is to do the same, but now with the anime I've watched in 2024.** As a fan of TOP lists, I try to take these sections very seriously, which is why I have chosen the best ones I consider for this article from the dozens of anime I have seen. I will start with anime from the **Isekai** demographic, as it is one of the most popular anime genres and the one I watched the most last year.
Before I begin, I want to mention that I will not be discussing the returns of famous works in the genre such as **Mushoku Tensei** (Season 2), **Tensei Shitara Slime Data Ken** (Season 3), **Arifureta** (Season 3), and **Re:Zero** (Season 3). The reason is simple: ***since they are continuations of anime that have already been broadcast some time ago, I don't consider them suitable for this top anime list of 2024***. Those who read this post will probably not be familiar with some of these names, so I will save myself the time of talking about them and leave it up to each person to decide whether or not to watch them. On the other hand, I have already reviewed some of the anime I will mention below, which is why you will see their names linked to those reviews. I remind you that this top list is personal, as is what you will read below.

Como fanático de los TOPs, intento tomarme muy en serio estas secciones y por eso he escogido entre las decenas de animes que he visto las mejores que considero yo para este artículo. Empezaré con los animes de la demografía **Isekai** ya que es de los animes más populares y que más he visto el año pasado.

La razón es sencilla: ***como son continuaciones de animes que ya se han emitido un tiempo atrás, no los considero idóneos para este top de animes del 2024***. Los que vean este post seguramente no conocerán algunos de estos nombres, por lo cual mejor me ahorro el tiempo de hablar de ellos y se los dejo a elección de cada quien si verlos o no. Por otro lado, algunos de los animes que mencionaré a continuación ya les he hecho una reseña en el pasado, es por eso que verán sus nombres enlazados con los mismos. Les recuerdo que este top es personal, así como lo que leerán a continuación.

Let's start this top list with an **Isekai** anime that, although it bears a striking resemblance to many others, was quite entertaining to watch. A series that manages to capture the viewer's attention with a character that is somewhat different from the typical invincible hero we see in almost all anime of the fantasy genre. Its simple story and mix of action with comedy and romance is what makes it an anime that is easy to watch and enjoy. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by **Shoji Goji**, this animated adaptation was produced by the **Passione** studio. The anime is about a group of high school students who are sent to a fantasy world with special abilities. However, our protagonist, the lonely boy at school, is transported last and is only given useless abilities that were left over because no one else wanted them.
While its premise doesn't sound like anything new that we haven't heard before in this industry, it is still appealing to most. After all, who doesn't like to see a lonely protagonist who was constantly humiliated before grow and develop while managing to live a peaceful life in the middle of a forest with only useless abilities that no one wanted to obtain? The irony of it all is what catches the eye, as what may happen can be the most unexpected thing possible. It's also easy to become familiar with the protagonist and one or two secondary characters in this anime. On the other hand, this series has both the typical clichés, such as the protagonist's harem of girls, as well as the fanservice that is never left out. Apart from this, I don't consider the anime to be bad, as it stands out, at least a little, within its own genre.
What I didn't like very much is its animation, and I think that because of this, I gave it fewer points than it deserved in the review I did a while ago. Although **Passione** is a studio that sometimes does its job well, in this case, I think it's one of the worst adaptations I've seen from them. Although their drawing style is simple, I'm not convinced in the end for many obvious reasons. The character design and visual effects are fine, but I don't like the excessive use of CGI, especially in one specific scene that I completely detest in the entire anime. The sound effects and soundtrack aren't bad, but they're not that great either. I must admit that some battle scenes look good, but it doesn't always make a good impression with so many negative details in its animation. It's not the best option, but it's good enough to start this top list.

Una serie que consigue captar la atención del espectador con un personaje un tanto diferente al típico héroe invencible que vemos en casi todos los animes del género de fantasía. Su historia simple y su mezcla de acción con comedia y romance es lo que lo hace un anime fácil de ver y disfrutar. Basada en la serie de novelas ligeras homónima escrita por **Shoji Goji**, esta adaptación animada fue producida por el estudio [**Passione**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passione_(company)). El anime trata de un grupo de estudiantes de preparatoria que es enviada a un mundo de fantasía con habilidades especiales. Sin embargo, nuestro protagonista, el chico solitario de la escuela, es transportado de último y solo le dan habilidades inútiles que sobraron ya que nadie los quiso.

> Si bien su premisa no suena a algo nuevo que no hayamos escuchado antes dentro de esta industria, la misma sigue siendo atractiva para la mayoría. Y es que a quién no le gusta ver a un protagonista solitario que antes era constantemente humillado poder crecer y desarrollarse mientras consigue vivir una vida tranquila en medio de un bosque con solo habilidades inútiles que nadie quería obtener. La ironía de todo esto es lo que llama la atención, ya que lo que puede llegar a suceder puede ser de lo más inesperado posible. También que es fácil familiarizarse con el protagonista y con uno que otro personaje secundario en este anime. Por otro lado, esta serie posee tanto los típicos clichés como el harem de chicas del protagonista, como también el fanservice que nunca dejan de lado. Aparte de esto, no considero que el anime sea malo ya que entre su mismo género llega a destacarse, al menos un poco.

> Lo que sí no me gustó mucho es su animación, y creo que debido a esto le resté menos puntos de lo merecido en la reseña que le hice hace tiempo. Si bien **Passione** es un estudio que a veces hace bien su trabajo, en este caso creo que es de las peores adaptación que he visto de ellos. Si bien su estilo de dibujo es sencillo, no me termina de convencer al final por muchos motivos evidentes. El diseño de los personajes y los efectos visuales están bien, lo que no me gusta es el uso exagerado del CGI, sobre todo en una escena en específico que detesto por completo de todo el anime. Los efectos de sonido y la banda sonora no están mal, pero tampoco es para tanto al final. Sí debo admitir que en algunas escenas de batallas se ven bien, pero no siempre consigue una buena impresión con tantos detalles negativos en su animación. No es la mejor opción, pero sirve para empezar este top.

Let's talk now about one of those **Isekais** that manage to attract attention for their premise, despite being more of the same. A story inspired by the Japanese literary work called "***No Longer Human***" by the great writer [**Osamu Dazai**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osamu_Dazai), which offers a small satire on this famous type of fantasy genre work. Based on the manga series of the same name written by **Hiroshi Noda** and illustrated by **Takahiro Wakamatsu**, this animated adaptation was produced by the studio [**Atelier Pontdarc**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atelier_Pontdarc). The series is about a suicidal writer curiously similar to the master Osamu trying to commit "*double suicide*" with his beloved partner when suddenly a truck runs them both over. He then wakes up in a medieval fantasy world where he is welcomed by a blonde elf who tells him that he has been chosen to become the hero of this world.
Although its premise is striking, with a protagonist very different from what we are used to seeing in this type of anime, this does not detract from the fact that the work in general sins by repeating the same clichés as always. It is a story in which both the main character and some of the secondary characters take center stage. This anime is a mixture of humor with some action and a lot of fantasy. Its humor, by the way, is heavy, leaning more towards black humor, which may not be to everyone's liking. However, it is understandable when you consider the context of the plot with the suicidal protagonist. With several epic moments and others not so much, this series manages to entertain and offer something a little different from what we have seen before in this industry.
As for the animation, it's fine, but it's not the best either. Even so, it manages to offer us a good finish in the drawing style, character design, a mixture of contrasting colors for each character, and visual effects that manage to make the expected impact (especially in the battle scenes). All of this, as simple as it may sound and look, I assure you that it manages to stand out quite a bit above other **Isekai** anime adaptations that are not even worth watching. The sound effects and soundtrack of this anime are well done, especially the background music in some scenes. It's a very good technical and visual work that helps you enjoy this anime, which isn't for everyone, but I still recommend it if you're looking for something different, satirical, and entertaining to watch.

Una historia que se ha inspirado en la obra literaria japonesa llamada “***No Longer Human***” del gran escritor **Osamu Dazai** para así mostrarnos una pequeña sátira hacia este famoso tipo de obras del género de fantasía. Basada en la serie de manga homónima escrita por H**iroshi Noda** e ilustrada por **Takahiro Wakamatsu**, esta adaptación animada fue producida por el estudio **Atelier Pontdarc**. La serie trata de un escritor suicida curiosamente parecido al maestro Osamu intentando realizar un “*doble suicidio*” con su querida pareja cuando de repente un camión los atropella a ambos. Posteriormente, este despierta en un mundo fantástico medieval donde le da la bienvenida una elfa rubia que le dice que fue elegido para convertirse en el héroe de este mundo.

> Si bien su premisa llama la atención con un protagonista muy diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados a ver en este tipo de animes, esto no quita que la obra en general peca en repetir los mismos clichés de siempre. Una historia en donde el protagonismo se lo lleva tanto el personaje principal como también algunos personajes secundarios. Una mezcla de humor con algo de acción y mucha fantasía es lo que se puede encontrar en este anime. Su humor -por cierto- es pesado, tirando más al humor negro, lo cual puede que no sea para el agrado de todos. Sin embargo, es entendible al tener en cuenta el contexto de la trama con el protagonista suicida. Con varios momentos épicos y otros no tanto, esta serie cumple con entretener y ofrecer algo un tanto diferente a lo que ya hemos visto antes en esta industria nomás.

> Con respecto a su animación, está bien, pero tampoco es que sea de lo mejor. Aún así consigue ofrecernos un buen acabado en el estilo de dibujo, diseño de personajes, una mezcla en su paleta de colores en contraste con cada personaje y efectos visuales que consiguen dar el impacto esperado (sobre todo en las escenas de batallas). Todo esto, por muy sencillo que suene y se vea, les aseguro que logra destacarse bastante por sobre otras adaptaciones de animes **Isekai** que siquiera valen la pena ver. Los efectos de sonido y la banda sonora de este anime están bien hechos, sobre todo la música de fondo en algunos escenarios. Un muy buen trabajo técnico y visual que ayuda a poder disfrutar de este anime que no es para todo el mundo, pero igual recomiendo si buscas algo diferente, satírico y entretenido de ver.

### Sasaki and Peeps
Let's talk about another **Isekai** anime that's different from the rest. In this case, it's a series that I didn't pay much attention to when I saw it on TV last year. But now that I've heard about it again, I regret not reviewing it at the time. That's why I'm bringing it here, in this post and in this top list. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by **Buncololi** and illustrated by **Kantou**, this animated adaptation was produced by [**Silver Link**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Link) studio. The anime tells the story of **Sasaki**, a middle-aged salaryman who leads an ordinary life. One day, he buys a little bird with a star on its chest to be his new pet and keep him company in his lonely apartment. What he doesn't know is that this little bird is a super powerful magical being from a fantasy world.
As you've probably noticed, it was the premise that completely hooked me from beginning to end. "***Reverse Isekai***" is a variation of the same demographic that has become just as popular. But of all the anime of this type that I've seen, none has caught my attention as much as this one did at the beginning. Anyone would be interested in seeing a middle-aged man travel to a fantasy world to do business, learn magic, fight monsters, magical beings, and enemies of all kinds while spending time with his magical talking bird. What I did not like about this series are the drastic plot twists and the lack of development and context that is felt in many moments. There are literally episodes that are so random that you are left with more questions than answers. So if you are looking for something different from the typical "*hero's journey*" story, then this anime may be perfect for you.
As for the animation, I believe that the studio in charge of its production has some experience animating works of this style. We can see this in the visual quality and details in the drawing style, character design, and practical visual effects. There are also a few moments where we can see the animation at its best (yes, I'm talking about the fights or battles in this work). At times, we can also see certain visual details that stand out a bit, but they don't completely overshadow the work. The sound effects are excellent, as is the soundtrack. Especially the background music, which at times gives us that feeling of living a fantasy or an adventure. It's not the best **Isekai** anime I've ever seen, but it does offer something different and entertaining to watch.

Pero ahora que vuelvo a saber de ella me arrepiento de no haberle hecho una reseña en ningún momento. Es por eso que la traigo aquí, en este puesto y en este top. Basada en la serie de novelas ligeras homónima escrita por **Buncololi** e ilustrada por **Kantou**, esta adaptación animada fue producida por el estudio **Silver Link**. El anime nos cuenta la historia de **Sasaki**, un asalariado de mediana edad que tiene una vida común y corriente. Un día se compra un pajarito con una estrella en el pecho para que sea su nueva mascota y así tener compañía en su solitario apartamento. Lo que no sabe, es que este pajarito es un ser mágico super poderoso que viene de un mundo de fantasía.

> Como seguramente ya notaron, su premisa fue lo que me enganchó por completo desde principio a fin. Los “***Isekai Inversos***” es una variación de la misma demografía que se ha vuelto igual de popular. Pero de entre tantos animes de este tipo que he visto, ninguno me ha llamado tanto la atención tal y como lo logró este al principio. Y es que a cualquiera le interesaría ver a un señor de mediana edad viajar a un mundo de fantasía a hacer negocios, aprender magia, combatir con monstruos, seres mágicos y enemigos de todo tipo mientras se la pasa con su pajarito mágico parlante. Lo que sí admito que no me gustó de esta serie son los giros de trama drásticos que tiene y el poco desarrollo y contexto que se siente que faltan en muchos momentos. Literalmente hay episodios tan randoms que te quedas con más preguntas que respuestas. Así que si buscas algo distinto a la típica historia del “*camino del héroe*”, entonces este anime puede ser perfecto para ti.

> En cuanto a la animación, considero que el estudio que estuvo a cargo de su producción tiene cierta experiencia animando obras de este estilo. Esto lo podemos notar con la calidad visual y los detalles en el estilo de dibujo, diseño de personajes y efectos visuales prácticos que tiene. También hay uno que otro momento en el que podemos ver su nivel de animación en su máximo esplendor (así es, estoy hablando de las peleas o batallas que tiene esta obra). En algunos momentos también podemos ver ciertos detalles visuales que resaltan un poco, pero no opacan por completo a la obra. Sus efectos de sonido son excelentes, al igual que su banda sonora. Sobre todo la música de fondo que, en ciertas ocasiones nos transmite esa sensación de vivir una fantasía o una aventura. No es de los mejores animes **Isekai** que he visto en mi vida, eso sí, pero cumple con ofrecer algo diferente y entretenido para ver.

It's time to talk about one of the best-produced anime series I saw last year. The ironic thing about it is that it's a Japanese-style **DC** animated series, which I love to watch. Otherwise, it's just a story we've seen before on the big screen, but with a few differences between the characters and their interpretations. Based on the popular DC comic known as **Suicide Squad**, this original animated series was produced by [**Wit Studios**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wit_Studio) (one of the largest and most popular studios of today). The anime is about the famous group of DC villains and criminals forming a team to be sent on a reconnaissance mission in a world of fantasy and magic (Isekai).
Anyway, I don't think I need to explain more than what is obvious in this case. While the premise is interesting for any fan of **DC** and **Isekai** itself, this 10-episode series is nothing more than a simple audiovisual spectacle perfectly made to entertain. While it has its well-played characters (such as **Harley Queen**, **Deathshot**, and **Peacemaker** himself), the integration of a fantasy world with magic, monsters, and knights is something that seems absurd to me. Or well, it's either that or the simple fact that I was never a fan of this strange team of criminals who constantly try to sell themselves as heroes or antiheroes, whatever. Otherwise, I'm not saying it has a bad story or poor character development per se, quite the contrary, as it manages to entertain and hook the viewer with each episode.
Its animation is, without a doubt, what wins this spot and the next one by far, unless it had a better story or better characters to offer. And it's no surprise that **Wit Studios** proves its supremacy by animating and producing this original DC series. The character design, color palette, drawing style that mixes comics with oriental animation, and fluidity are impressive. Especially when we see the action scenes, which are a marvel of visual effects, movements, choreography, and explosions that are hard to forget. The sound effects and soundtrack are also excellent, especially the background music and the intro. It can be said that this is the only good thing this anime has to offer, to be honest. So if you're looking for something different and super well produced, then I recommend watching this audiovisual gem.

> Es momento de hablar de uno de los animes mejores producidos que he visto el año pasado. Lo irónico de esto es que es una serie animada de **DC** al puro estilo japonés que tanto me gusta consumir. De resto, no es más que una historia que ya hemos visto antes en la pantalla grande, pero con una que otra distinción entre sus personajes y sus interpretaciones. Basada en la popular historieta de **DC** conocida como **Suicide Squad**, esta serie animada original fue producida por **Wit Studios** (nada menos que uno de los estudios más grandes y populares de la época actual). El anime trata del famoso grupo de villanos y criminales de **DC** formando un equipo para ser enviados a una misión de reconocimiento en un mundo de fantasía y magia (Isekai).

> En fin, creo que no hace falta explicar más de lo que es evidente en este caso. Si bien la premisa es interesante para cualquier fan de **DC** y de los **Isekais** en sí, esta serie de solo 10 capítulos de duración no es más que un simple espectáculo audiovisual perfectamente hecho para entretener nomás. Si bien tiene sus personajes característicos bien interpretados (como **Harley Queen**, **Deathshot** o el mismo **Peacemaker**), la integración de un mundo de fantasía con magia, monstruos y caballeros es algo que se ve hasta absurdo para mí. O bueno, es eso o el simple hecho de que nunca fui fan de este equipo extraño de criminales que constantemente lo intentan vender como héroes o antihéroes, como sea. De resto, no digo que tenga una mala historia o un mal desarrollo de personajes en sí, más bien todo lo contrario ya que consigue entretener y enganchar al espectador con cada capítulo.

> Su animación es, sin lugar a dudas, lo que se lleva de lejos este puesto y el siguiente, a menos que hubiera tenido una mejor historia o mejores personajes para ofrecer. Y no es de extrañar que **Wit Studios** llegue a demostrar su supremacía al animar y producir esta serie original de DC. El diseño de los personajes, la paleta de colores, el estilo de dibujo que mezcla el cómic con animación oriental y la fluidez que tiene es impresionante. Sobre todo cuando vemos las escenas de acción, las cuales son una maravilla de efectos visuales, movimientos, coreografías y explosiones que es difícil de olvidar. Los efectos de sonido y la banda sonora son también excelentes, sobre todo con la música de fondo y su introducción. Se puede decir que esto es lo único bueno que tiene este anime para ofrecer, la verdad. Así que si estás buscando algo diferente y súper bien producido, entonces te recomiendo ver esta joya audiovisual.

### The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic
Let's finish this top list with an **Isekai** anime that, when I saw it on TV, I didn't think was good enough to put at the top of a list. But now, after watching dozens of other anime, I've reconsidered my opinion about this work and how excellent it is. Whether it's for its story or its characters, this series manages to entertain us while also teaching us several very important life lessons. Based on the light novel series of the same name written by **Kurokata** and illustrated by **KeG**, this animated adaptation was produced by **Studio Add** and [**Shin-Ei Animation**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin-Ei_Animation). The anime tells the story of **Ken Usato**, a high school student who is transported along with his two friends to a medieval fantasy world. The idea was to bring only two people, but he snuck in by mistake and now he will have to strive to help save this world.
