This week there was a focus on harvests and preserving in the homesteading communities. It's obviously the time of year for it, so we may as well go with the flow, therefore this week's highlights focus on these topics. I'm getting hungry just reading them all!

Something farmers have done throughout the years is selective breeding. The results of doing this develops plants and livestock not only to a specification that's desirable to you, but also one that's durable to the climate you're in. This week @goldenoakfarm has been [grading the garlic harvest](https://hive.blog/homesteading/@goldenoakfarm/grading-garlic-august-6-2021-goldenoakfarm) and she shares with us what she looks for and why.
