Music is part of everyone's life, from an early age we feel that stimulus that entertains us, amuses us and even accompanies us in the most difficult moments. In my particular case, I feel very lucky because my family on my father's side were great musicians, they played many instruments such as the cuatro, the guitar, the bandolin, the drums, the piano and more. So my house was always full of music and flavor.

My dad played all these instruments and even more, so from a young age both my brothers and I decided to learn. The Venezuelan cuatro caught my attention, a four-stringed instrument that is always present in our traditional music. I love its sound and for me it is one of the best instruments, it was really easy for me to learn although I must admit that I could never play just by ear as my dad used to say, that is to say, just listening to the music and following the rhythm because we learned through the notes. But I really enjoy playing it and being present at family gatherings and parties, there are no limitations when you really enjoy and want something, that is why I considered that I could not only learn to play the cuatro but also any other instrument that I set my mind to.

La música forma parte de la vida de todos, desde pequeños sentimos ese estímulo que nos entretiene, divierte e incluso nos llega a acompañar en los momentos más difíciles. En mi caso en particular me siento muy afortunada pues mi familia por parte de papá eran grandes músicos, tocaban muchos instrumentos como lo son el cuatro, la guitarra, el bandolín, los tambores, el piano y más. Por lo que mi casa siempre estuvo llena de música y sabor.

Mi papá tocaba todos estos instrumentos y hasta más por lo que desde pequeños tanto mis hermanos como yo decidimos aprender, a mi me llamaba la atención el cuatro venezolano, un instrumento de cuatro cuerdas que siempre se encuentra presente en nuestra música tradicional. Su sonido me encanta y para mí es uno de los mejores instrumentos, realmente me fue fácil aprender aunque debo admitir que nunca pude llegar a tocar solo de oído como decía mi papá, es decir, solo escuchando la música y siguiendo el ritmo pues nosotros aprendimos a través de las notas. Pero disfruto mucho tocarlo y estar presente en las reuniones y fiestas familiares, no hay limitaciones cuando realmente disfrutas y quieres algo es por eso que consideró que no solo pude aprender a tocar el cuatro sino también cualquier otro instrumento que me proponga.

If it were my last birthday, I would go back in time to be able to celebrate it once again with my father and all my family, 6 months ago my father died and this has been the hardest blow I have suffered in my life, I can't imagine a birthday where he is not present playing the guitar or the cuatro to sing the happy birthday, a Christmas or any celebration. That is why if it were my last birthday all I would like is to be by his side again with my whole family together.

Si fuera mi último cumpleaños retrocederia el tiempo para poder celebrarlo una vez más al lado de mí padre y toda mi familia, hace 6 meses que mi padre murió y este a sido el golpe más duro que he sufrido en mi vida, no me imagino un cumpleaños donde el no este presente tocando la guitarra o el cuatro para entonar el cumpleaños feliz, una navidad o cualquier celebración. Es por eso que si fuera mi último cumpleaños lo único que quisiera es estar nuevamemte a su lado con toda mi familia reunida.
