So tomorrow is election day here in the US of A. These midterm elections are typically viewed as a referendum on the current president. And they almost always go against the current president.

Trump is special though. The people who vote Democrat view him as so vile that there will be a "blue wave" of congressional seats changing hands.

I am not so sure.

Whatever else he is, Trump is definitely polarizing. The Democrats definitely hate him.

But Democrats hating Trump in California or Hawaii doesn't change anything. Those states are already Democrat controlled.

It's the states that are somewhere near the middle of the political spread that matter in determining margins. These are the so-called swing states.

So will a lot of those states and districts go to the Democrats?

We will find out tomorrow, but I am expecting a much closer contest than most people seem to be projecting.
