Hello friends, welcome to my blog, today I want to tell you about a book that I read in my adolescence and that it was mandatory to read it when you were in high school, as young people we were and the natural rebellion of those days when they force you to do something, you do not appreciate it, you just get the job done. A long time later I reread it and saw it with different eyes, of those who did not know how wonderful this book is, its strong characters and an era that can very well adapt to today, a timeless book.

>Hola amigos bien bienvenidos a mi blog, hoy quiero hablarles de un libro que leí en mi adolescencia y que era obligatorio leerlo cuando cursabas el bachillerato, como jóvenes que éramos y la rebeldía natural de esos días cuando te obligan hacer algo, no lo aprecias, simplemente cumples con la tarea. Mucho tiempo después lo releí y lo vi con otros ojos, de quien no supo ver lo maravilloso de este libro, de sus personajes fuertes y de una época que puede muy bien adaptarse a hoy en día, un libro atemporal.

I speak to you if not one of the best, the best book by Don Rómulo Gallegos, “Doña Barbara”. This book was written in 1929 and reveals life in the Venezuelan countryside in the twentieth century. At a time when he lived under the government of Juan Vicente Gómez, which was characterized by his strong and authoritarian hand. In 1928, young people asked for changes and this time was characterized by being very convulsed by the social movements that were being generated at that time. These young people would be known as the Generation of 28, who over the years would become the leaders of Venezuelan democracy. Don Rómulo Gallegos influenced all of them and they were his students.

>Les hablo si no uno de los mejores, el mejor libro de Don Rómulo Gallegos, “Doña Barbara”. Este libro lo escribió en 1929 y da a conocer la vida en el campo venezolano en el siglo XX. En una época en donde se vivía bajo el gobierno de Juan Vicente Gómez, el cual se caracterizo por su mano dura y autoritaria. En 1928, los jóvenes pedían cambios y esta época se caracterizo por ser muy convulsionada por los movimientos sociales que se estaban generando en ese tiempo. Estos jóvenes serian conocidos como la Generación del 28, quienes a los años se convertirían en los lideres de la democracia venezolana. Don Rómulo Gallegos a todos ellos influencio y fueron sus alumnos.

Doña Barbara is a novel of the so-called land genre, also known as a regional novel, this literary genre receives this name because it highlights the land and focuses on exalting its virtues and characteristics. But it is much more than that, it is a novel that portrays through its well-developed characters the reality of a country and Latin America in the face of the changes in a society that stayed in the past and the new one that enters with vigor to change it and take it to the future. .

>Doña Barbara es una novela del llamado genero de tierra, también conocida como novela regional, este genero literario recibe este nombre porque resalta la tierra y se centra en exaltar las virtudes y características de esta. Pero es mucho más que eso es una novela que retrata a través de sus personajes bien desarrollados la realidad de un país y Latinoamérica ante los cambios de una sociedad que se quedo en el pasado y la nueva que entra con bríos para cambiarla y llevarla al futuro.

This woman (Doña Barbara), has everyone at her feet, either out of fear, because of her beauty, by force or because it is rumored that she possesses supernatural powers, whatever it is, she is a strong woman who is not afraid to make decisions and actions, a woman who knows how to use her charms to trap men, use them and leave them. A novel that shows us the ferocity of the plains, but also the most beautiful side of it when describing its landscapes.

>Esta mujer (Doña Barbara), tiene a todos a sus pies, bien sea por temor, por su belleza, por la fuerza o porque se rumora que posee poderes sobrenaturales, como sea que fuera, es una mujer fuerte que no teme tomar decisiones y acciones, una mujer que sabe usar sus encantos para atrapar a los hombres, usarlos y dejarlos. Una novela que nos muestra la ferocidad de los llanos, pero también su lado más hermoso al describirnos sus paisajes.

This story is a metaphor between civilization and the barbarism of the countryside, many times Santos Luzardo is established as progress and future, Doña Barbara as the representative of the primitive, wild and backward. I invite you to read this novel, a classic of the Latin American novel.
