I return to this community with the subtle premonition of all the beauty that comes with belonging to **LadiesOfHive**.

I am a neurologist, and I’ve embraced poetry as both a form of expression and a way of life. Perhaps **both** were the mission I was born to fulfill—or simply the purpose guiding my steps. But the truth is, I never made excuses to avoid fighting for my dreams: **excuses are fear in disguise**.  

>Neurology taught me that the brain seeks shortcuts to avoid the unknown, but poetry reminds me that what matters most always demands to be written.

Science tells us that excuses are pathways forged by a small part of the brain called the **cingulate gyrus**, meant to shield us from pain. Yet **we are here to challenge this world**, with a mission etched into our neural circuits: a blueprint of dreams our frontal lobe tries to organize while a whisper lingers—*"What if you fail?"*

It’s true, there were days when verses and neurons seemed to speak different languages, days when the stethoscope or reflex hammer **drowned out** metaphors, and when poetry wandered listlessly through overnight shifts. 

But sometimes destiny is a stubborn alchemist, merging two paths to unravel the same mystery: that of invisible wounds and words with the power to heal.

It was hard, I won’t deny it. Because the world often demands you speak a single language, wear one face, one skin. And yet, I keep stubbornly dividing my time and soul between diagnoses and stanzas.  

The closing line of my story? **You needn’t shatter yourself to fit in**.

> The real choice is always to embrace the paradox that makes us brilliantly unique.

**DESDE LOS CIRCUITOS NEURONALES AL MISTERIO DE LA POESÍA**  

Llego nuevamente a esta comunidad con la sutil premonición de todo lo bello que significa pertenecer a **LadiesOfHive**.

Soy neuróloga y he adoptado la poesía como modo de expresión y de vida. Probablemente, **ambas** han sido la misión con la que vine al mundo o, simplemente, son el objetivo al que me han guiado mis pasos. Pero lo cierto es que jamás puse excusas para no luchar por mis sueños: **las excusas son disfraces del miedo**.  

>La neurología me enseñó que el cerebro busca atajos para evitar lo desconocido, pero la poesía me recuerda que lo esencial siempre pide ser escrito.

La ciencia dice que las excusas son sendas que busca una pequeña parte del cerebro llamada **giro cingulado**, con el fin de evadir el dolor. Pero **hemos venido a darle batalla a este mundo**, con una misión escrita en nuestros circuitos neuronales: un patrón de sueños que nuestro lóbulo frontal intenta organizar mientras algo susurra: *"¿Y si fallas?"*.

Es cierto que hubo días en que los versos y las neuronas parecían hablarme en lenguajes distintos, días en que el estetoscopio o el martillo de reflejos **ahogaban** las metáforas, y en que la poesía **paseaba letárgica** entre las noches de guardia.


 Pero a veces el destino es un terco alquimista y une los caminos de dos formas para descifrar el mismo misterio: el de las heridas que no se ven y el de las palabras con poder para sanar.

Fue difícil, es verdad. Porque a veces el mundo te pide que hables un solo idioma, que lleves un mismo rostro, una sola piel. Y yo me sigo empeñando en repartir mi tiempo y mi alma entre versos y diagnósticos.  

El colofón de mi historia se resume en que **no hay que romperse en pedazos para encajar**.

> La elección sería siempre abrazar la paradoja que nos hace genialmente únicas.
