Delay for Ethereum Constantinople

The start-up of the Ethereum Constantinople fork, in the Ropsten test network, was postponed at least 5 days after finding a vulnerability flaw in the network's EVM, Péter Szilágyi, team leader of the network, informed on Thursday. Ethereum Foundation.

Through its Twitter account, the developer reported that the hardfork would now be applied in the 4,230,000 block and not the 4,200,000 as planned.

It is estimated that the bifurcation will now take place on Sunday, October 14, to dispel the vulnerability in the code of one of the five Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIP), which will be included in Constantinople. The original date was between October 8 and 9.

### **Roadmap**

 
Constantinople, together with Byzantium, make up the road map for the development phase of Ethereum called Metropolis, with which it seeks to implement important changes in the network. The most relevant is the transition that will take place in the consensus protocol, which will pass from the Work Test (PoW) to the Participation Test (PoS). Constantinople marks the end of the Metropolis phase that, according to the developers, will help solve scalability problems.
