# Out Of Nowhere...
... I received a message from an artist called [BLINDSTATE](https://soundcloud.com/blindstate) whose track I remixed some 8 years ago called "[End of the World](https://soundcloud.com/blindstate/blindstate-end-of-the-world-1)". This original is a minimal drum and bass track that has a really deep, introspective sound to it but I fell in love with the opening pad and wanted to make a remix of what he did. What I wasn't expecting was for it sound the way it did with a chilled out, slow paced and downtempo feel to it as you can hear below:

It then dawned on my that I also made a second remix of the same track in a liquid drum & bass style that I only shared exclusively on some of my Platform Project live DJ mixes - if any of you tuned in to them, you'd have heard it. However, I never uploaded this to Soundcloud as a free download so in Part 2 tomorrow, you will get to hear it in all it's glory first here on Hive before I start sharing it fully to the wider world!

# The Message

And so, the message, bolt out the blue was Mr BLINDSTATE asking me if I would like to collaborate on a Drum & Bass track. I'm normally a little bit skeptical about these things but when he shared with me his latest tune, I was wowed by it! It sounds proper liquid dnb Hospital Records style with a few additional pieces added to it, will be a really cool and chilled out track. I messaged back asking what he has in mind for a collab and will take it from there when he comes back... it's only been 8 years since we last spoke, can't imagine there being too much to catch up on 😂
