Exit festival is a music festival held on the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia. It was founded by 3 people: Dusan Kovacevic, Bojan Boskovic and Ivan Milivojev in 2000. Festival won many awards and for a few years now it’s been ranked one of the top 10 major festivals in Europe.
To get to the fortress, you have to cross the bridge over Danube river. Most people just decide to walk over the bridge so you can see hundreds of people moving in the same direction and it’s such a nice view.

The festival lasts for 4 days, starting 2nd Thursday in July and it’s an all night party, until the morning. 
The location of the fortress makes it a completely unique experience and allows many different stages to perform music not far from each other and without any sound problems.
Some of the stages are Main stage, Dance arena, Fusion stage, Reggae stage, Explosive stage, Latino stage, Silent disco, Karaoke stage and many more.

**2011**
My first time going to the Exit festival was in 2011. I don’t have many pictures mostly because I was so happy and euphoric about this experience and I was having so much fun with my friends. When it comes to music acts that year, it was nothing special for me, but the ones we saw were very good. I really liked M.I.A.

**2012**
This year was so much fun. A lot of great music acts, my favorite was Plan B, I was so exited I even convinced my friends to go to the Main stage a lot earlier to get to the first row and we did it. There were even pictures of us on different websites, haha! We also went to see a band from the UK called Citizens! My friend discovered their music and we all got hooked. First row again! :) And we got to hang out with one of the band’s member after their performance. Great memories!

**2013**
This year was special because we partied for 7 days straight! Usually there are parties in the city center 2 days before the festival starts. And this year Exit had an opening day so it was pretty much one day addition to the remaining 4 days of festival. There was a lot of great performances. The Prodigy had an amazing performance, the crowd went totally crazy. I was disappointed with David Guetta but he was so much better in 2016.

**2014**
This year I only got ticket for one day and I only got it because I wanted to see Stromae. I am a big fan of his music and I was so happy when I found out he is coming to the festival. So I only got to see him and Disclosure and some smaller acts and of course chill a little bit at Reggae stage, where the atmosphere is more relaxed compared to some crowded stages.
Also, this year Exit got an addition in form of a partner festival called Sea dance that is held on the Jaz beach, near Budva, Montenegro.

**2015**
This year was my favorite when it comes to music acts. My number 1 this year was definitely John Newman. Another artist I’ve been listening to a lot before I found out he is coming to the festival. Emeli Sande was incredible, her voice is so powerful! 
That year on Saturday it was the most visited day in festival’s history.

**2016**
This year was very special. Short period of time before the festival I joined a site called Couchsurfing. There was a lot of people who were coming to the festival from different countries. Later we made a group on Whatsapp and the day before the festival started some of us met in the city center of Novi Sad and went for a drink and party later. Then during the festival we used to meet everyday in the park, with drinks and snacks, chilling, laughing, getting to know each other before we went to the fortress. We had so much fun and I cannot wait to see some of them again this year.

I’m so lucky to have one of the best European, and I like to say worldwide festival in my city. A lot of people from all over the world come here to enjoy all kinds of music during the sunny summer days. 
I’m not sure if this year I’ll be part of the Exit festival but I can say that the previous 6 years were amazing, so much fun, moments and performances to remember.
