# WHAT 
<sub>(What Hive offers you as an individual)</sub>

* <b>A place where I can express myself</b> - blogging on the blockchain has always felt like a form of expression that aligns with my true self the most. I feel the most comfortable sharing parts of my life here. Even though English is not my first language, I still can say everything I want to say and I don't feel like it's restricting me in my expression, quite opposite, it's a great language practice. I also like to look back at some of my old posts as a fun way to see how much I and things around me have changed. 

* <b>Combining two things I enjoy</b> - I like taking photos even though I'm just using my phone for that but oh well :) and writing blogs has been the best way I can express my thoughts/feelings or whatever really. I am not that good at expressing myself in other ways so I am happy I get to put together two things I like. And there is always open space to trying something new such as making videos etc. if I ever feel like doing that.

* <b>Meeting like-minded people</b> - this is a big one! There are some things I don't talk about with people in my 'real life' as I find that none of them is interested in some specific topics I'm into. But here on Hive, there's a lot of people from all over the world I can connect with and share opinions. 

* <b>Learning</b> - speaking of people from all over the world, I have learned so much about other places, cultures and lifestyles and this is something I really enjoy. I am always curious to see different ways of life, perspectives and life experiences as it helps me be more open-minded and accepting towards differences and not just sticking to the like-minded, lol. I also get a lot of inspiration and ideas from people and posts I am reading on Hive.

* <b>Earning something along the way</b> - I am happy that we all get a chance to earn some doing what we (hopefully) enjoy doing. I know that earnings are different for everyone, some earn more, some earn less, but I believe there's still a fair chance for everyone who is willing to put some effort and share somewhat quality content.

 # WHY
<sub>(How Hive is different to other social media and blogging platforms)</sub>

* <b>Authenticity</b> - I feel that with Social platforms like Instagram and Facebook for example, the authenticity is coming close to zero and it serves more as 'look at my fun, amazing and heavily filtered life, aren't you jealous of it?' form of 'expression' that gives us an illusion of something we deep inside know is not real. On Hive, people are a lot more realistic and opened to share the good, the bad and the ugly. 

* <b> Tribe </b> - this again comes to people you're friends with/follow. Maybe it sounds a bit rude, but I really don't care that much anymore about what most of my family/friends are up to and most of it comes from the reason I mentioned above. Deleting Instagram for 3 months really showed me I'm not missing anything and I don't really miss sharing a lot there. I got back on Insta and I'm already regretting that decision, lol. I am a lot more interested in reading Hive blog posts. :)

* <b> You can actually earn sharing what you're passionate about </b> - I am aware of many people who earn money through Instagram, Youtube, blogging etc. but for 'regular people' like most of us here on Hive, it wouldn't be that easy to do that. I am also aware that earnings on Hive vary a lot, some earn lot more than others but I believe that everyone who puts effort and has something unique/interesting to share, gets rewarded for it, sooner or later.

* <b> It's a lot easier to start on Hive </b> - before I discovered the blockchain blogging, I was thinking about creating a 'regular' blog but I just had no idea how to start and most importantly, how to build an audience based on what I like to blog about which is a lot of topics. On Hive it's a lot easier to build connections and find people. It also feels like two-sided communication and you get a sense of community rather than just looking for people to follow you and bring your statistic numbers higher.

* <b> It doesn't get boring </b> - there's always new people to discover, a wide range of topics to discuss, challenges and initiatives (or you can start your own). There's also a lot of dapps (there's pretty much a decentralized option for any Social media platform) and communities, so no matter what you're interested in, most likely you can find it. 

# WHO
<sub>(People & spaces you find Hive support and gain enthusiasm from)</sub>

There has been a few people I connected with on Hive, that I didn't know on 'that other platform'. :) I am happy that some people moved to Hive from 'that other platform' and unfortunately, there are some folks who left the blockchain blogging world alltogether that I really miss. Over these three plus years, I've met some incredible individuals and I am forever grateful for that. Majority of them made this experience amazing and for those couple who didn't (again on 'that other platform'), I am still grateful for, because I have learned <i>a lot</i> from them too. I'll give a shoutout to everyone who supported me in any shape or form, upvotes, comments, kind words and any other way and I want you to know that I appreciate it a lot and I really mean it. Won't say any names though. :)

# WHERE
<sub>(The front ends / dapps of your choice and why)</sub>

* <b>peakd.com</b> - I am a creature of habit when it comes to these kind of things, I checked peakd, I liked it and I stick with it. I find it simple and easy to use and don't feel the need to change anything here.

* <b>Discord</b> - I don't know if this counts but it definitely has a big role in the blockchain blogging, I think. It's crazy to think of those times when there was no such thing as Discord groups and communities. :D I am not active on Discord that much these past few months but I couldn't go without mentioning it.

* <b>hivestats.io </b> - I don't check this one often but it's great when you want to take a look at all kinds of stats for your profile, it's all in one place. I'm not that into checking my own analytics and compare my progress over the months but seeing few people I follow sharing these type of posts, it got my attention and interest so I might start doing this myself, just for fun.

* <b>3speak</b> - again, hardly ever use it as I don't post videos often. I was using Dtube before but for some reason that even I don't know, I switched to 3speak.

# #THRIVEONHIVE
<sub>(My final thoughts & conclusion)</sub>

I find Hive to be a great place for those who are interested in a more decentralized world and cryptocurrency. And even if that's not the main reason and someone just wants to share whatever they want to share, Hive is still better than any other place, in my opinion. Comparing it to other platforms, it's much easier to find your tribe, get inspired, combine your interests/passions and share them in a format that you want and let's be honest, who doesn't want to earn some doing that? So as long as there is some quality and authenticity to the content and some effort put, the journey of Hive can turn out to be one of the best things Internet (and life) can offer. Overall, I have high hopes for Hive and its potential, it's on us to take it and make the best out of it. :) And I just want to mention that I am not hating on other Social media, lol. I still use them (not nearly as much as before) and they can bring some benefits if used in a good way, like anything else in life, I suppose, just thought I would make this little disclaimer.

Finally, I want to thank @jaynie and #PowerHouseCreatives community for this initiative, it was a lot of fun making this post and I am looking forward to check what other people of Hive have to say about #ThriveOnHive!
