Several months ago I remembered that Steam had given away the base game of Little Nightmares and I decided to give it a try, I finished it and I was very happy with the experience, but it had not been enough for me. My girlfriend noticing my enthusiasm decided to buy me the first part of this DLC which I played and I was eager to know the rest of this story that happens in parallel to the first game. The only bad thing from a commercial point of view is that they have divided this story into 3 DLCs, it is very convenient to buy it on sale and buy the package as it is much cheaper than buying them separately.

Mi novia al notar mi entusiasmo decidió comprarme la primera parte de este DLC la cual jugué y me quedé con ganas de saber el resto de esta historia que sucede en paralelo al primer juego. Lo único malo desde el punto de vista comercial es que hayan dividido esta historia en 3 DLCs, conviene muchísimo comprarlo en rebaja y comprar el paquete ya que es mucho más barato que comprarlos por separado.

The protagonist of this story is the runaway boy, with him, we venture into the bowels of the strange ship, in the deepest areas where we will encounter new nightmarish creatures. If you thought the water levels in other games were difficult it's because you haven't played this DLC yet. Well to be honest the difficulty is not high but the fact of having an enemy stalking you makes your nerves betray you and you make more mistakes when completing puzzles or doing time events to escape.

Bueno para ser sincero la dificultad no es alta pero el hecho de tener un enemigo asechándote hace que tus nervios te traicionen y cometas más errores a la hora de completar puzles o hacer eventos de tiempo para escapar.

Our story begins when we fall on a pile of coal, which is used to move all the machinery on the ship once there we get up and continue our journey to find a way out. We run into a few gnomes who are afraid of us, but after helping them and showing them that we are not a danger they begin to collaborate with us to overcome the different rooms that we run into. In the first room we must rescue three gnomes to help us push a large door and move to the next room showing us the mechanics that will be repeated throughout this DLC.

Nuestra historia comienza cuando caemos sobre un montón de carbón, el cual es usado para mover toda la maquinaria en el barco una vez allí nos levantamos y continuamos nuestro recorrido para encontrar una salida. Nos topamos con unos cuantos gnomos que nos tienen miedo, pero tras ayudarlos y mostrarles que no somos un peligro empiezan a colaborar con nosotros para superar las diferentes salas que nos topamos. En la primera sala debemos rescatar a tres gnomos para que nos ayuden a empujar una gran puerta y pasar a la siguiente sala mostrándonos la mecánica que se repetirá a lo largo de este DLC.

Throughout this first part of this DLC we will have to overcome obstacles, jumping between platforms and overcoming salt by solving puzzles, some of them we will have to solve alone and in others we will have the help of the gnomes. This shows us the collaborative attitude of our character, a big difference with Six, the girl from the base game.

The game constantly handles the themes of light and darkness especially with an enemy, we will have to circumvent some dark areas guided by sounds and a dim light without making noise to avoid being caught something that causes a lot of tension and at least I had to repeat these areas several times to overcome them.

Constantemente el juego maneja las temáticas de luz y oscuridad especialmente con un enemigo, tendremos que sortear algunas zonas oscuras guiándonos por sonidos y una tenue luz sin hacer ruido para no ser atrapados algo que provoca muchísima tensión y al menos yo tuve que repetir varias veces estas zonas hasta superarlas.

Una vez más adelantados en esta primera parte llegaremos a una gran caldera, cada vez que consigamos gnomos estos irán a esta especie de nexo para tirar carbón generando así energía para que podamos escapar, pero necesitaremos sortear varias salar hasta generar la suficiente potencia. Me gusta mucho esta mecánica porque mientras jugamos podemos ir viendo el avance al tenemos mas gnomos trabajando y echando carbón, se siente un avance visual inmediato.

A small easter egg or connection that I found in a remote room was a big eye that acts as a screen, in it I could see different parts of the map and in one of them you can see Six overcoming some obstacles almost at the beginning of the first game helping us to place in the events that happen. This, although it was a small detail, made me very excited.

After getting enough power in the boiler we can climb to the upper area once there we will advance to find a small community of gnomes gathered in front of the heat of a boiler recognizing that they have feelings and sense of community, they try to protect each other and are willing to give us their help. Leaving this room we will fall on an elevator where we will see the last boss of the first game, the lady and here closes this part of the DLC.

Tras conseguir la potencia suficiente en la caldera podremos subir hasta la zona superior una vez allí avanzaremos para encontrarnos con una pequeña comunidad de Gnomos reunidos frente al calor de una caldera reconociendo que tienen sentimientos y sentido de comunidad, intentan protegerse mutuamente y están dispuestos a brindarnos su ayuda. Al salir de esta sala caeremos sobre un ascensor donde veremos al ultimo jefe del primer juego, la dama y aquí se cierra esta parte del DLC.

As I mentioned before I don't like that the story is divided in three parts but if you played the first game and you want to know more about the Little Nightmares universe it's a price worth paying.
