When I was in the Technical Rule Violator prison (TRV) I did not receive any letters from my future wife for the first 60 days. I had gotten to the point where I did not want to receive any letters from her when she wrote me. I should have realized that she hadn't wrote in 2 months and that she was showing me how important I was to her, but no I had to read the letter and fall right back in love...

I am such a big dummy, I could have saved myself years of hurt right there.

### Falling for some garbage...

When you are in jail or prison and you get a letter from someone, you feel very keenly that that person cared enough about you to take time to write you. You will go over every line and look for every nuance of meaning in every word. Why did that say it this way instead of that you will ask yourself. Any expression of care or love will be seen as the biggest declaration of affection since the beginning of time.

Basically you will believe anything that person says and will completely overlook the fact that they have neglected to write you for months at a time. You will think it was all just an oversight and of course they really were just too busy to take 10 minutes to jot down a note and say hi.

You find yourself so alone and lonely that you just want anyone to care about you.

### So what did the letter say anyway?

When I got the letter from my future wife, it basically apologized for not writing sooner and said that she had been working hard at getting her stuff together. She said she had gotten an apartment with another girl she worked with and that I could come stay with her when I got out. I had already told my parole officer that I did not have anywhere to go and had applied for a parole loan and community placement.

Back then, when you were getting released from a prison facility in Michigan, you were eligible for community placement at a Motel 6 and a $300 parole loan that you had to pay back before you would be released from parole. Basically the $300 paid for about a week, wheat you were supposed to do after that was a mystery. Probably they expected you to find some woman to shack up with, which is what the majority of parolees do.

### Getting out

I had been in touch with my Son's Mother when I didn't get any mail and made plans for community placement. She was going to pick me up from the bus station and take me to the Motel 6. When my release day came, we went to the Motel and of course I talked her into sleeping with me. I then promptly asked her to give me a ride to my future wife's apartment.

I was such an ass.

### First impressions

When I arrived at my future wife's apartment and knocked on the door she was not there. I did not know her roommate but she let me come in and wait for her because she was going to be back soon. 

When I came in the house the first thing I noticed was the disarray of the place, then I noticed a pair of my jeans on the floor covered in blood. I didn't say anything but it was not looking good to start.

About 20 minutes later my future wife came home... with two of her ex boyfriends trailing behind her. One was her daughter's dad, the other just an ex boyfriend. It was clear when she saw me that she was not expecting me that day from the look on her face. I am sure I didn't appear too happy that she was with the two guys she was with.

Both of the guys she was with knew that I didn't like them and quickly left after getting there. My future wife and I started talking and she began telling me that she was lonely and missed me, and that was why she had been hanging out with them. 

Of course my dumb self listened.

### Let the party begin!

I started living at her apartment the next day and every day was a constant party. Drinking from sun up to sun down and smoking weed all day were the norm. 

On her roommates birthday, her roommate paid for my future wife, me, and her boyfriend to go to the movies. Of course we snuck in some liqueur to drink and when we got back to the apartment her roommate was crying because her boyfriend had been being an ass all night. I was in the bedroom talking to her when I realized that her boyfriend was talking to my girlfriend in the living room. I cracked the door so I could hear what he was saying and I heard him trying to get my girlfriend to give him oral. He actually said "Don't worry me and Daron are cool, he won't mind..."

I went in the living room and beat him badly. I broke his jaw and his nose. 

I should have left right then, but it was too late, my future wife was pregnant with my first Daughter.
