Las anomalías de forma en los dientes son producidas muchas veces durante el desarrollo de la vida intrauterina, en esta publicación conoceremos la fusión una anomalía en la forma de los dientes que afecta a los incisivos centrales en una unión con los laterales mediante, el esmalte y la dentina está puede estar presente en la arcada superior o en la inferior.

La funsion será una anomalía de unión del esmalte y la dentina, en la que dos o más dientes se van adherir, pueden afectar la dentinción temporal como también a la permante, se tratará de la unión embriologica en las primeras etapas de la vida eruptiva durante el desarrollo embrionario, donde de dos a tres gérmenes tendrán una unión dando como producto un sólo diente.

En algunos pacientes se puede presentar que compartan la cámara pulpar, los dientes que son más perjudicados son aquellos que van a erupcionar ya totalmente fusionados, por lo que la fusión la apreciaremos a lo largo de los dientes es un mismo plano, puede ser de manera total pero también afectar la corona y la raíz.

Esta anomalía afectará más a los dientes permanentes,  con mas prevalencia estará presente mas en los dientes inferiores que en los superiores. En la literatura expresan que tienen mayor predilección en aquellas zonas anteriores de los maxilares afectando a los incisivos y también a los caninos, es poco común que tenga una afectación en los premolares y molares, también existen fusiones bilaterales pero estas son más frecuentes en los dientes temporales específicamente en el maxilar inferior.

The literature states that they have a greater predilection in the anterior areas of the jaws, affecting the incisors and also the canines; it is uncommon for the premolars and molars to be affected. La morfología que presentan los dientes fusionados totalmente distinta con diversas variaciones su cara vestibular se puede presentar un surco vertical este puede estar marcado el mismo va indicar la unión de ambos para ti no se puede presentar dos círculos uno solo, este se puede abrir en forma de abanico hacia incisal. Cabe destacar que el tamaño que pueda presentar el diente va depender de la etapa en la fusión se produjo, con gran frecuencia serán de tamaño de dos dientes unidos.

Para el tratamiento de la fusion el paciente debe asistir constantemente al odontólogo para controlar en el paciente la acumulación de placa bacteriana y fomentar en el una correcta higiene bucal, puesto que que si no se controla la misma el paciente puede tener caries dentales, se debe restaurar los bordes incisales ya que favorecen el acumulo de la placa bacteriana y restos alimentos.
