El hilo dental es una herramienta vital, recomendado para fortalecer la higiene bucal que viene dada después del cepillado dental. Este nos permite completar la correcta higiene en la cavidad bucal, también nos permite remover la placa bacteriana, el mismo nos permite llegar a zonas que el cepillo dental no puede.

**Técnicas para la aplicación del hilo dental.**
Existen dos técnicas importantes que nos permitirá el uso correcto del hilo dental
son:
**Método de Carrete:** Es el más usado por los jóvenes y adultos, que ya possen una coordinación neuromuscular y destreza necesaria para el uso adecuado totalmente correcto del hilo dental.

**Método de Lazo:**Es usado por niños y adultos con alguna condición especial, ya que tendrán poca agilidad neuromuscular.

**¿Cómo se usa el hilo dental según el método del carrete?**
1- Debemos tomar 50cm dehilo dental.
2- La mayoría vamos a enrollarlo en el dedo medio de la mano derecha.
3- El resto del hilo dental es enrollado en el dedo medio de la mano contraria(Izquierda)esta será la mano que estará activa, que va recoger el
hilo sucio.
4- Al mismo tiempo vamos desenrollando la parte correspondiente de la otra mano derecha, que será la mano pasiva que almacenara el hilo ya usado.

>1- We should take 50cm of dental floss.
>2- Most of the floss is wound on the middle finger of the right hand.

**¿Cómo usar el hilo dental según el método del lazo?**
1- Vamos a tomar 50 cm de hilo
2- Hacemos un círculo rematado por tres nudos de seguridad.
3- Estarán involucrados todos los dedos excepto, el dedo pulgar los colocaremos dentro del círculo, utilizándolos para ubicar el hilo dental entre los dedos aproximadamente 2 cm.
4- El hilo dental estará guiado por los dedos índices en los dientes inferiores y en los dedos pulgares y un índice en los dientes superiores.
5- Vamos limpiando con un círculo del hilo, rotando para usar el hilo que esta limpio, para los espacios.
