## The dream

> Last night I had a stressful dream about my wedding. I did not see a canopy but only a banquet hall and I knew it was my wedding day. I did not remember being involved in any part of planning it, but the strange thing was that I was not dressed as a bride but in simple clothes and wet hair. All the time I did not understand why I was not going to get ready and dress up. It was already very late and the guests began to arrive. I was under terrible pressure that my mother had not arranged for me a bridal salon or someone to do my make-up, and now I'd have to organize that by myself and wear a wedding dress that I did not choose and did not like. My mother chose the dress at a charity place (second hand donated dresses) and I rebelled and did not understand why she did so. In addition, I had to move my car in the parking lot of the same place (maybe I dreamed it because I was under pressure to get to work in time in the morning). With me were two of my girlfriends, but when I got organized I felt very alone and no one came to help me. The dream really made me short of breath until I awoke.


> I do not know if it's related, but I've had a relationship crisis. I am 32 years old, and in a relationship of almost a year. The relationship has undergone a pretty big crisis. We have had a lot of fights over the last month. Ex-gfs who have appeared and wanted to meet my spouse and other day-to-day quarrels that have been occurring since we moved to live together three months ago. Beyond that, I am in a period of transition; I have completed my studies that are in a completely different field from my field of activity in recent years, and I am hesitating how to proceed from here.

## My Interpretation to your dream  

It certainly seems that you are undergoing a period of change and this is expressed, as it should, in every area of your life, especially in your relationships, with your partner, your mother, your sister, her husband, etc. These relationships are just a reflection of your relationship with yourself and the different aspects of you. **A reorganization of your internal psychic systems is taking place and so far you have not been really ready for the wedding**. At a deep level, you knew that you would have to go through an inner process with yourself.

(By the way, I would like to point out that these internal processes never end but there comes a moment when the nature of the personal growth is shifting and one can begin to experience one's spiritual growth alongside another person).


The situation is alarming / stressful / disturbing / confusing you. The dream tries to tell you that things happen beneath the surface without the usual intervention of the rational thinking process. You are being taken care of, being nourished. Sit on the comfortable chair, lean back and let life do its work for you. It is not easy for you and therefore you are stressed and rejecting. The solution will come in the form of a change in the pattern of thinking, a movement of the consciousness status in which you are now located (= move the vehicle).

And do not worry so much about the future.

Last night I told my partner about the dream and its interpretation, and this morning, as soon as he opened his eyes, he said that he had had a bad dream and now is looking for your advice.
I will give you a little background about him. He is also 31 years old and also undergoing many changes, in his professional career. Setting up a business in the midst of a not-so-good period (relationships wise, as I described above).
He described a dream in which he was diving in the sea (he is very fond of the sea, he served in the Navy), someone forced him to become a diving instructor when he had no knowledge of how to teach. He said that he did so against his will.

Not surprisingly your partner's dream matches yours. In other words, a reflection of standing in the place, unwillingness, things that are delayed.

Your partner is asked to take a big step forward in his personal growth - to connect with his inner world, his feelings, his source of strength and his nourishment - but he hesitates (= entering the water). He feels that he is unwilling (he has no knowledge of how to teach) and therefore the process is forced on him. At the same time, he should know that the answer to many of his concerns, doubts, and setbacks (including and especially in the interpersonal domain) reside "there", in the same internal source.

True, there is much of the unknown here, just like going underwater to foreign territory. But, thanks to his love of the sea, he must know that the connection I am talking about, with that inner self, is natural to him, perhaps more than for many others. He should take advantage of it.

The dream does not present a practical solution (ie, "what should be done tomorrow morning") because things are rather simple. It is a conscious process in which he has to examine his thoughts and beliefs and release what is inappropriate. For example, is it appropriate to worry so much? Is it appropriate to hide feelings and not express them? (These are just examples of course). I have the feeling that he will enjoy doing the process together with you, especially since the partnership will contribute to both of you. You need this togetherness and there is nothing like common growth to bring people together.
