I was watching Joe Rogan’s comedy show the other day and he made fun of how people are so sensitive and intolerable these days. People are easily triggered by the slightest of things. This is the reality of the world we live in today.

Have you ever had a conversation/argument that went from talking about ideas to personal attacks? I just had one not too long ago and it is funny in the sense that we were talking about crypto.

I know i have called people ‘stupid’ for some of their remarks on crypto. I am of the opinion that if you make an assertion you should have fact or premises to back your claims or risk sounding stupid.

I could deal with a faulty thought process than none at all, but is it worth even losing my cool? Crypto is barely a decade ago and most of us have lived functional lives without it.

We often see a lot of clashes between crypto enthusiasts about a coin’s superiority to others. I think hive is the best coin out there. I will choose it over every other thing out there. It may not make me rich like someone pointed out but i can live with that. I am not particularly chasing riches.

Even here on hive, we have different groups clashing occasionally over trivial things. I remember when i got caught up in a whale’s fight. Those were really dark times for me.

**IDEOLOGY CULT**

Jordan Peterson in his book, ‘the rules of life’ warns about ideologies.

>Ideologies are simple ideas, disguised as science or philosophy, that purport to explain the complexity of the world and offer remedies that will perfect it. Ideologues are people who pretend they know how to “make the world a better place” before they’ve taken care of their own chaos within. 

It is quite adventurous to think that a single idea or concept can solve the problem of a complex world like ourselves. I have seen this fail a number of times and it would be quite dubious for me to promote such a thing. 

However, the way of the world we live in today is quite different. It is often a case of **WE VS THEM; I AM RIGHT AND YOU’RE WRONG; I AM GOOD AND YOU’RE BAD**. This sort of narrative is cancerous and has eaten deep into our society today.

**I DON’T MIND BEING WRONG.**

I certainly don’t want to stand the risk of seeming right all the time. First, it highlights the rigidity of my thinking. I do not mind having meaningful exchanges that expose my faulty thought process and the limit of my knowledge. It keeps me humble.

If there is anything worth fighting for i believe it is the truth. Unfortunately, this has been coined to some relative and differs from person to person. We live in a very divisive world where it is impossible to live with people who have contrary views to ours.

I do not believe we have a one-fit-all solution to the world's problem. We need a combination of things to make it a better place.
