It has been a very time-consuming endeavour, one I can say I have enjoyed. I have learnt a few things about *engagement farming* on X which I want to share today, but before I go into that I want to state my reasons for doing it. Initially, I started engagement farming to get monetised on X. Now I understand the term "engagement farming" has a negative connotation and often refers to posting controversial things to get people's attention. However, that's not the case for me. Yes, I share more edgy posts on X but my goal is to interact with as many people as possible, especially around the things I care about like music, football, politics and crypto. Aside from my attempt to get monetised, I want to drive traffic to my Leofinance blogs which will generate long-term revenue from my post. I don't have to bank on my posts' SEO ranking when I have an attack following and good impressions on X. I am trying to win on both sides--Hive and X. So far I have been doing pretty well. ## CHALLENGES When you are competing against influencers who have millions of followers, the odds are stacked against your (small/medium) account. First, the ALGORITHM favours their content over yours so churning out content is only a fool's game. There is also the case of influencers or bigger accounts stealing/recycling content from smaller creators. Since they have the platform they can simply repost other people's content and make money off it. So rather than churning out content, I adopted the strategy of replying to other people's content. Emphasis on reply because many creators make the mistake of quoting which limits their reach. ## BENEFITS When you reply to other people's content you increase the chance of other users seeing your reply which can improve your Twitter impressions significantly. Oftentimes you have scenarios where other people start conversations off your reply which also increases the visibility of your post. Another positive of replying to popular posts is that it increases your page views. If your content is great, these curious users can become followers; and click on links to your website/blog which can be good for your business. Also, you have the unique opportunity to grow your X account to the point where you do not need popular accounts to get decent impressions. It is also important that I emphasise here that if you want to grow your account you need to stick to your niche. This way you can contribute meaningfully to discussions and attack new followers. For instance, I enjoy sports and I have sufficient knowledge about the Web 3 space. I follow popular accounts from these industries and I engage with them. So far my strategy has been working. It requires no special skill, anyone can do it. Yeah I am absolutely swamped with our decentralized finance and reinvesting all the amazing money I get here with that. Massive opportunities. So much so that trading has kind of fallen off for me. I need to get back to it and really start trading hard to build more volume. It's a great idea however I'm not sure it's really worth the time and effort to invest! I absolutely would love to know more about the opportunities financially over there but I don't think I could be persuaded to try it out. Excellent post and congratulations on having goals and dreams
