Time leaves us, and there's only so much we can do about that, perhaps we can do ourselves a favour by realising we are in no competition with time. Many see life as the currency of life, indeed it is, but I daresay not exclusively. Time exists as a map, giving some sort of direction and a guide to answering the existential question of When?

Time is time, existing with or without us, hardly paying any attention to our judicious use of her core. The perks of such judicious use of time are not necessarily rewarded by Time itself, but by our accordance of her existence and how highly we've placed her. This piece is not intent on debunking time as some fraudulent entity, neither is it intent on giving kudos to the enigmatic concept that is time.

A popular religious line goes thus "there's time for everything", which might imply; everything is a function of time, everything is dependent on time. Time is indeed pervasive since everything is based on timing.
Our understanding of time, albeit linear might be quite a limiting factor.
Yes, there's a time for everything, and when one doesn't make it on time?
Does this define one a failure?

For example in many societal settings, between the age range 20-30, a youngling should be at least gainfully employed, married, independent to a large extent than one is prepared for. And when one dies to make this timing, are they not said to be failed?

It's funny how we've allowed this concept to very much define our lives, Indeed time is the currency of life, we shouldn't use it as a precursor for seemingly outlandish societal expectations. There's no time as the moment, live!
