La dura faena en el campo comienza cuando el sol despunta en el alba, a medida que el astro rey comienza su transitar y calentar toda la tierra, el binomio del llano Llanero-ganado también inicia su transitar. Con la colada del primer café, el trabajador recibe ese aliento para ir al encuentro de su rebaño, ya sea montado sobre su corcel, sobre una moto o simplemente a pie va al encuentro de su rebaño.

 

 

En el rebaño vacas, toros, novillas y becerros esperan atentos la llegada del peón que les conduzca hasta el corral. En la penumbra de la madrugada y con el frescor del rocío mañanero, cada integrante del rebaño sabe que al ir al corral le esperan buenas cosas. Agua y una suculenta ración de alimento concentrado esperan a las vacas mientras son ordeñadas. Los becerros, por su parte, esperan a que termine el ordeño para terminar de secar una ubre que se le ofrece con algo de leche materna.

 

 

Una vez terminado este encuentro matutino que en el campo se ejecuta de manera religiosa todos los días, comienza la verdadera fatiga, el salir a ganarse el pasto con el sudor de su morro. El salir del corral o de la sala de ordeño y comenzar a pastorear bajo el inclemente sol no es algo muy fácil ni cómodo para ningún ser vivo, por muy vaca o toro que sea. El llanero también va por su propia predica, y comienza su recorrido, revisar cercas a ver si están rotas, curar animales enfermos, ver las condiciones de los bebederos y un sin número de tareas que le ocupan toda la mañana hasta pasado el mediodía.

 

 

Pero como Dios todopoderoso no olvida a sus criaturas, luego del arduo trabajo nos compensa con una jornada de descanso y meditación. El rebaño vacuno, luego de caminar unas ochos horas y a eso de media tarde busca el refugio de la sombra de un palo alto, de un árbol solitario en medio de la sabana para refugiarse bajo sus sombras. Este árbol, que ha estado esperándolos todo el día, abre sus ramas para abrazarlos dándole un buen sito para el descanso y para la paz. Cada miembro del rebaño como si fueran discípulos de Buda sentados bajo su higuera, comienza su ritual de rumiar y si fueran humanos a meditar. En esta misma hora el llanero también busca el resguardo de una buena sombra para realiza su siesta meditativa de la tarde.

 

 

Ni las vacas ni el llanero saben exactamente técnicas de yoga ni de meditación, pero ambos en la quietud de la sabana y bajo una buena sombra descansan y reflexionan sobre las cosas que le ocurrieron durante la faena, Así de esta manera encuentran la paz.

The hard work in the field begins when the sun rises at dawn, as the sun begins its journey and warm the earth, the binomial of the Llanero-llanero-cattle also begins its journey. With the brewing of the first coffee, the worker receives that breath to go to meet his herd, either mounted on his steed, on a motorcycle or simply on foot goes to meet his herd.

In the herd, cows, bulls, heifers and calves wait attentively for the arrival of the laborer who will lead them to the corral. In the early morning darkness and with the freshness of the morning dew, each member of the herd knows that good things await them when they go to the corral. Water and a succulent ration of concentrated feed await the cows as they are milked. The calves, on the other hand, wait for the milking to be finished so they can finish drying out an udder that is offered with some mother's milk.

Once this morning encounter is over, which in the countryside is executed in a religious way every day, the real fatigue begins, going out to earn the pasture with the sweat of their nose. To leave the corral or the milking parlor and begin to graze under the inclement sun is not something very easy or comfortable for any living being, no matter how much of a cow or bull it may be. The plainsman also goes by his own preaching, and begins his journey, checking fences to see if they are broken, curing sick animals, checking the condition of the water troughs and a number of tasks that occupy him all morning until after noon.

But since God almighty does not forget his creatures, after the hard work he compensates us with a day of rest and meditation. The herd of cattle, after walking for about eight hours and at about mid-afternoon, seeks the shelter of the shade of a tall pole, of a solitary tree in the middle of the savannah to take refuge under its shadows. This tree, which has been waiting for them all day, opens its branches to embrace them, giving them a good place for rest and peace. Each member of the herd, as if they were Buddha's disciples sitting under their fig tree, begins their ritual of ruminating and if they were human, meditating. At this same hour the plainsman also seeks the shelter of a good shade to perform his meditative afternoon nap.

Neither the cows nor the plainsman know exactly yoga or meditation techniques, but both in the quietness of the savannah and under a good shade they rest and reflect on the things that happened to them during their work, and in this way they find peace.
