Hmm, I'll have to look into that, I can't fully remember if Canons set the aperture back to wide open upon shutting down making that not work, that may have been my issue, I can't fully remember, but I'll give it a try next time I want to shoot some macro! edit: ohhh yup, katydid! I have never seen one in my entire life, so it was the first time coming across one :)

They are particularly well camouflaged insects! I am not sure about the aperture resetting or not, try it out anyway! I'm quite happy with the macro lens that I bought, most of the stuff I post too Steemit has been macro, so the lens has more than paid for itself!
