If you have a bad weather like me, you can spend sometime talking to friends inside doors close about gaming online Splinterlands.

If you have less experience, or you just want to bring in a new player, you can find simple and easy contents to onboard the newbie. The campaign mode is perfect for this task.

Also, community engagement challenge will bring to players regardless of the experience some new information to build on.

In this current of thought I would love to share to all reader my adventure since I joined this fantastic game of cards online back by the Hive blockchain.

### A /. The biggest hurdle

The first year after I joined the game in 2020 it was almost impossible to buy cards from fiat in my country.

It was the most difficult period of the game in my four long years in Splinterlands. The fees were too expensive to buy a card with crypto from West Africa. The situation has changed over the years, and now it is possible to easily convert XOF to Credit or DEC. Of course a new player from West Africa will have to read many articles to get the tutorials and a little guidance to avoid losing money during the process. 

I am happy to provide this instruction to all the new players who want to join the game.

### B /. Which feature or mechanic took the longest to fully understand?



I was interested to level up my cards at the first occasion my rewards at the season finale come in my account. I did not link the unlock of ability and the level of the cards.

My mistakes were a lesson because I spent too many resources maximizing the cards instead of just buy the missing cards.

I found that there were many tools available on the net to help players boost the level of the cards without too much headache.

### C /. What advice would you give to your past self—or a brand-new player—starting today?

My first word of encouragement will be to join the discord and telegram official community to receive the best tips to make your journeys start from the right spot.

The community has enough experience to guide you throughout the process of ranking up and boosting your account reputation.

As an experience player I found very informative the tutorial from the mode of training to all players who want to perfect their skill in the game.

Hunting for the best cards and the bid system on the market is the next valid knowledge most new players have to learn as it can save a lot of money to your wallet as you get powerful cards at discount prices.

I am sure you will do fine if you share your questions online with the community moderator and fans ready to assist you, grow in the game.

### D /. Are there any specific players, guides, or moments that helped you grow the most?

I learned so much from the leaderboard section. It was not easy to grow when you watch content of the best players on YouTube. The gap was too much to build similar strategy in the lower League.

My solution was to put to use the leaderboard list of the best players close to Gold and Diamond League. After I have registered the names of their account, I can now watch the replay of previous battle where they won't with cards that have similar level than my collection.

If I found out the cards that play the most vital role in their strategy, I can make a plan to buy that card from the market or level up one card that can play an identical role in my lineup.

The cheapest way possible to reach my goal, knowing that I can collect more rewards from small progress.
