Well, it's been a week, to be sure. 

Yeah, I know it's only Tuesday. 

My eldest has been battling a persistent cough for a little over a week, and it's been just awful the last few days. Poor guy keeps getting sent home from daycare and school, which makes for some interesting afternoons for me. Thankfully he generally gets home, snacks a bit, and then lays down for a nap for an hour or two and that puts me basically at the end of my work day so it's not much of an interruption on that front. At most, it makes eating lunch a bit chaotic, but otherwise for me it's not too bad. 

For him though... my little man just wants to be over his cough. Its been a rough couple of nights as he keeps getting randomly woken up with a coughing fit. Every symptom points to it just being allergies gone rampant on him - he doesn't have a fever, no weird wheezing or anything with breathing, and no cold symptoms, plus it just started about a week ago when things really started to get dry and dusty around here. Sadly, none of the allergy meds I've tried for kids have done much for him it seems. Or, maybe they have been taking the worst off and it just seems like they're ineffective. It's pretty hard to tell.

Either way though, it hasn't made for an easy week so far. Work has also been super busy - we're on a deadline to release a major update and it looks like we'll make it in time but it's taken half the team dedicated to just this project and it's still a little touch-and-go on if we'll pull it off. They brought me onto the project a week ago and that definitely has helped, as it lets the senior devs focus on the bigger issues and I can snap up some of the quicker and less intricate tasks. 

On top of that, my father-in-law is dealing with a heart specialist as now his ticker is being problematic. Poor dude has had nothing but problems the last few years. Thank the gods healthcare is free here. 

Anyhow, that's kind of it for me today. I've been meaning to get together a post about some of the cool tabletop RPG content I've been looking at but they're a little more involved and I just haven't had time lately. I also found a neat podcast I'd like to mention, but I think that'll probably also end up in another post as I'd like to talk about one that just ended, one that I just found, and one that I enjoyed that the newest find reminds me of. So, basically what I'm saying is I'm slowly working on two different blog posts as well, and since I am doomed to be awake at this dumb hour of the night I thought I'd ramble about life for a minute.
