I loved baseball, I still didn't understand all the rules and to be honest I found it a bit boring, but being a Yankees fan was a family tradition. When he could my father took everyone to the stadium, including the "females" of the house who I think would have preferred other entertainment, in reality my younger sister loved being on dad's shoulders and yelling at the top of her lungs and for my mother it was almost a holiday to have everyone close without having to do anything! And if we couldn't go to the stadium, then we spent Sundays watching the games on TV and often the neighbors were added to the ritual. In short, I did not understand baseball, but the party that was created around it was special.
