Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post muy chevere en el cual les hablaré sobre las películas de Crepúsculo. Recuerdo que cuando salieron estas películas no me llamaban para nada la atención, la historia de un vampiro y un lobo enamorado de una humana la verdad es que no era de mi interés, sin embargo recuerdo que muchas amigas mías eran bastante fanáticas de esta saga de películas y también de sus libros. Hace unos meses me dediqué a ver estas películas con mi novio debido a que me daba mucha curiosidad, y de verdad quedé sorprendida, ya que lo vi de manera irónica y si les soy completamente sincera no me disgustó, todo lo contrario las disfrute, me reí de algunas cosas y me parecieron entretenidas otras. Así que me gustaría hablarles sobre las películas de Crepúsculo en este caso hablaré de la primera y en futuros posts voy a detallar el resto, comencemos!

A few months ago I dedicated myself to watch these movies with my boyfriend because I was very curious, and I was really surprised, since I saw it in an ironic way and if I am completely honest I didn't dislike it, on the contrary I enjoyed it, I laughed at some things and I found others entertaining. So I would like to talk about the Twilight movies, in this case I will talk about the first one and in future posts I will detail the rest, let's go!

Crepúsculo es la primera película de la saga estadounidense estrenada en 2008, basada en la serie de libros de Stephanie Meyers con el mismo nombre. Es de fantasía y romance dirigida por Catherine Hardwicke y protagonizada por Kristen Stewart y Robert Pattinson. Fue un rotundo éxito en taquilla y se produjeron cuatro películas más basadas en los libros. Actualmente está disponible en la plataforma de streaming Netflix.

Bella Swan es una joven adolescente que vive con su madre, sin embargo debido a que su madre se va a casar de nuevo Bella se muda con su padre a un pueblo llamado Forks. Este pueblo es bastante alejado y algo frío, sumando que también el papá de Bella tiene una actitud seca parecida al de su inexpresiva hija. Ahí conoce a Jacob y a su papá que son miembros de una tribu y más adelante Bella conoce a sus nuevos amigos en la escuela secundaria, ahí todos son muy amables con ella, sobre todo los chicos. Ella se sienta con sus nuevo amigos en la cafetería y ve a los Cullen, un grupo de jóvenes muy pálidos y convencionalmente atractivos que siempre llaman la atención por eso mismo, sobre todo Edward. Bella y Edward coinciden en la clase de biología y este último actúa como si la presencia de la protagonista le diera náuseas, lo cual incomoda mucho a Bella. Pasan varios días y el padre le comenta a Bella que han habido unos asesinatos muy extraños ocasionados por unas bestias salvajes y andan investigando los casos. En esos días Edward no asiste a clases y pareciera que es por culpa de Bella, sin embargo un día aparece otra vez este chico el cual ahora tiene los ojos de un color peculiar. Luego de varias interacciones incómodas ese mismo día, Bella está a punto de ser atropellada por un carro y Edward con una súper velocidad y fuerza sobrehumana la salva empujando el carro, lo cual deja muy desconcertada a Bella y a pesar de sus interrogantes Edward no le da respuestas claras.

Bella y Edward tienen varias conversaciones y en un vaivén este último le dice a ella que no deberían ser amigos pero a su vez la vive buscando. Jacob y Bella van a la playa un día y Jacob le cuenta que su tribu hizo un pacto con los seres de cara pálida para que estos no sé acercaran a su territorio debido a una rivalidad que tienen desde hace años. Un día soleado los Cullen no asisten a la escuela y los compañeros de Bella le comentan que en esos días esa familia se va de campamento, y aquí Bella comienza a sospechar más aún. Una noche Bella sale con sus amigas y cuando se separa de ellas, un grupo de chicos quieren intentar hacerle daño pero de la nada llega Edward a salvarla. Bella no entiende cómo supo que estaba en peligro, a su vez ella toca su mano y nota que está muy frío. Bella en su casa investiga por internet y llega a la conclusión de que Edward es un vampiro, y cuando lo encara pues sí, él confirma sus sospechas poniéndose bajo la luz del sol y... brilla? También que tiene poderes de super velocidad y fuerza, tampoco duermen y su familia come animales, no humanos. En fin, nos enteramos que Carlisle, padre y cabeza de los Cullen transformó a Edward en 1918 al estar prácticamente moribundo. Bella y Edward comienzan su relación y él la invita a conocer a su familia, los cuales tienen reacciones algo distintas debido al miedo al ser expuestos como vampiros. También descubrimos que Edward va por las noches a ver a Bella mientras duerme.

Edward se presenta ante el padre de Bella y Edward la invita a participar en un partido de béisbol en el bosque con su familia. Aquí conocemos mejor al trío de vampiros malos conformado por James, Victoria y Lauren que han sido los responsables de todos los asesinatos que han ocurrido en el pueblo de Forks, estos vampiros han sido atraídos por el olor de Bella, los Cullen intenten ocultar a Bella pero no pasa nada, no obstante James se obsesiona con cazar a Bella. Los Cullen intentan protegerla huyendo a Phoenix, la ciudad donde ella vivía antes pero James los sigue y le tiende una trampa a Bella para encontrársela en un estudio de Ballet donde iba de niña. James la tortura golpeándola y quebrándole la pierna pero llega Edward justo a tiempo, ya que Alice Cullen, la cual tiene el poder de ver el futuro tuvo una visión de Bella en el estudio de ballet. Ambos vampiros se pelean pero James logra infectar a Bella con veneno de vampiro, en ese momento llegan los Cullen para ponerle fin a James quemándolo vivo y piensan como hacer para salvar a Bella. Luego de una gran charla mientras Bella se retuerce del dolor, deciden que lo mejor es que Edward le chupe el veneno a Bella y la salva. Al día siguiente Bella despierta en el hospital al lado de su madre que le cuenta que se cayó por unas escaleras y hasta rompió la ventana y por eso se rompió la pierna, que obviamente no es cierto, pero Bella no se lo dice a su madre. En ese momento Edward le dice a Bella que debería quedarse en Phoenix para estar a salvo, pero de ella insiste en qué quiere estar a su lado. Llega un baile de secundaria y Edward y Bella van juntos, se ponen a bailar afuera, en lo que Bella le pide a Edward que la transforma en vampiro pero este no lo hace. Al final vemos que Victoria los está viendo desde arriba, y parece que vamos a verla más adelante cobrando venganza por la muerte de James, y así termina la primera película de Crepúsculo.

The next day Bella wakes up in the hospital next to her mother who tells her that she fell down some stairs and even broke the window and that's why she broke her leg, which is obviously not true, but Bella doesn't tell her mother. At that point Edward tells Bella that she should stay in Phoenix to be safe, but she insists that she wants to be by his side. A high school dance arrives and Edward and Bella go together, they start dancing outside, in which Bella asks Edward to transform her into a vampire but he doesn't do it. At the end we see that Victoria is watching them from above, and it seems that we are going to see her later taking revenge for James' death, and so ends the first Twilight movie.

Crepúsculo cuenta con un amplio elenco que se va mostrando a lo largo del desarrollo de la película, comenzando por Bella Swan, la protagonista de esta historia interpretada por Kristen Stewart, es un adolescente fría, seca e inexpresiva, no conocemos mucho de ella aquí además de que le gusta estar sola y se enamora de Edward muy rápido. También tenemos a Edward Cullen interpretado por Robert Pattinson, un vampiro que también le gusta estar solo, es poco sociable, tiene algunas actitudes un poco obsesivas y raras con la protagonista debido a que poco a poco se está enamorando de Bella, pero a la vez tiene miedo de ser un peligro para ella. Está Charlie Swan interpretado por Billy Burke, el padre de Bella es cual es igual de seco que su hija y se le complica comunicarse con ella.

Tenemos a la familia Cullen de los cuales por ahora conocemos más a detalle a Carlisle Cullen interpretado por Peter Facinelli, lider de los Cullen y a su vez padre adoptivo de los miembros, que a su vez trabaja como médico del pueblo de Forks; y Alice Cullen interpretada por Ashley Greene, vampira que tiene visiones y ayuda mucho a Bella y Edward gracias a ello. También están Esme interpretada por Elizabeth Reaser, Rosalie interpretada por Nikki Reed, Emmett interpretado por Kellan Lutz y Jasper interpretado por Jackson Rathbone. Está Jabob Black interpretado por Taylor Lautner del cual no sabemos mucho, solo que es amigo de la infancia de Bella. El trío de vampiros James (Cam Gigandet), Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) y Laurent (Edi Gathegi), que son nómadas y se dedican a cazar humanos para saciar su sed y hambre. Aunque considero que algunos personajes son algo carentes de profundidad, tienen personalidad acorde al mundo extraño en el que viven, en las siguientes películas hablaré un poco más de su desarrollo ya que aquí, aunque se sabe de ellos, no se profundiza mucho.

Comencemos hablando del famoso filtro azul, como me comentó mi novio parece un video musical constante. A pesar de que ese filtro muy Instagram del 2013 me parece extraño, supongo que le añade cierta extrañeza al mundo donde se encuentran, siendo un lugar frío donde ocurren muchos misterios. Los planos a veces son incómodos, cuando enfocan un buen rato a Bella o Edward haciendo gestos raros sin hablar admito que me da risa, no le veo mucho sentido la verdad, igual que los silencios incómodos entre Bella y su padre. La música original de la película estuvo a cargo de Carter Burwell y Alexandra Patsavas estuvo a cargo de escoger otras canciones de varias bandas como Linkin Park, Radiohead o Muse, teniendo una larga lista de canciones interpretadas por varios artistas, mi canción favorita es Decode de Paramore, que gracias a la fama de esta película aunque no la vi en su momento, me permitió conocer a esta banda que marcó gran parte de mi adolescencia. En general la banda sonora me parece muy buena y calza bien con la película.

The shots are sometimes awkward, when they focus a long time to Bella or Edward making weird gestures without speaking I admit it makes me laugh, I do not see much sense the truth, just like the awkward silences between Bella and her father. La primera película de Crepúsculo marcó a muchas adolescentes en su tiempo, recuerdo a varias amigas siendo súper fanáticas de esta historia que en ese momento no me llamaba la atención. Comprendo porque fue exitosa en su momento, fue relativamente única pero a la vez con un cliché romántico mezclado con extrañeza. Objetivamente no es muy buena, pero si les soy completamente honesta a pesar de todo, me gustó verla por lo menos de manera irónica. No pude verla cuando era adolescente así que no puedo decir si cambió mi perspectiva, pero como dije, supongo que entiendo su enorme éxito. Es algo entretenida de ver, tiene cosas incómodas que uno las puede dejar pasar al verlas desde el humor tales como los planos innecesarios a las caras de los protagonistas, los silencios incómodos y las interacciones extrañas de los protagonistas cuando empiezan a conocerse más y más, actualmente tiene muchos haters pero la verdad no veo porque odiarla. A mí me gustó verla aunque no sea una obra maestra y la recomiendo si quieren pasar el rato con una historia de misterio y romance adolescente.

I enjoyed watching it even though it's not a masterpiece and I recommend it if you want to pass the time with a story of mystery and teenage romance.

Espero que les haya gustado este post! Crepúsculo honestamente me gustó y me vi toda la saga en compañía de mi novio y la verdad la disfrutamos bastante. Esta película en particular fue muy exitosa en su momento y gracias a ello se pudieron hacer las demás películas con un exitoso incluso mayor poco a poco. Realmente no las considero excelentes, pero sí entretenidas, por lo que estoy feliz de poder hablarles de las demás películas en futuros posts.
