Colour Challenge: Small Butterfly

The *small coppers* (Lycaena phlaeas), *vuurvlindertjes* in Dutch, are still active in my region of The Netherlands:

These little butterflies are very territorial and despite their small size - their wingspan is about 2.5cm (1") - they will try to chase away much larger butterflies. They are usually succesful, but, as you can see in the top photo, they don't always come away unscathed.

Very nice photos! It has been a while since I have seen one of those... I remember them well from childhood. There was also the all-orange "scarce copper(?)" which I almost never see anymore...
