STEEM - What exactly we have to offer in comparison to other projects out there?
# So how exactly does steem fit in the crypto industry?

For the most part I can obviously see the problem solving capacity in comparison to the most projects out there. The governance is still an issue but we are by far most decentralized platform when it comes to *stake*. I won't be comparing steem to other projects as i don't see relevance in it, but some things needs to be lebeled in order to gain the bigger picture.

The most common thing among other projects is aim to disrupt financial sector and provide tools that centralized structures simply can't provide. The thing is that there are to many blockchains competing there and only few of them will eventually satisfy the needs of customers.

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmf9gJzb1kmaGXt47oPLp1YZfcgWXPwNSLkcAbhu2uarsm/image.png

STEEM on the other hand has little to none competition in this space and we need to leverage this advantage. I'm not saying it will be simple but since the sentiment is slowly changing i believe we finally have something to offer in return. The biggest accounts are starting to curate manually which is showing a will to change. I guess EIP wasn't such a bad idea after all. I was a bit skeptical as i assumed big guys will keep up the same practice but i was wrong, and i can't remember when i was happy for being wrong haha.

# Reducing Inflation?

I have been thinking about this idea for some time now. The inflation that is currently set around 8.5% annually is way to high. But steem currently lacks the utility needed for us to reduce inflation since it really is the core reason of why would one even hold steem. We need more features that will provide benefits to those who decide to stack it up.

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmajjRHSQ68QXXCG7eDTEyi6C6nGKcWMkui1Ano2m7yDMV/image.png

For instance, it would be an awesome idea if we develop a marketplace in which steem holders have some kind of benefits in terms of fees or positions if wanna place buy or sell order. In regards to that we would have additional utility and more reasons on why to hold steem.
I assume it's way to expensive at the moment to request something like it but at one point market will make a turnaround and with the SPS we will have a way to make funding.

Crypto is still unrecognized by the majority ( i think around 5% are using it at the moment) which is both good and bad thing. Good thing about it is the ability to position ourselves better and to buy in while we still can. Steem is undervalued and it's a fact. In the last year a lot of things have been done in order to increase the value and yet the general market sentiment is way to fucked to give it a boost. After bitcoin reaches new ATH more and more investors will start seeking an opportunity within alternative coins. It is just matter of time when it'll happen.

# Burning tokens

Honestly, I don't think it can make a huge difference but it can help ecosystem in a long run. I actually like the idea of @theycallmedan which proposed to burn some percentage of tokens in case one want's to withdraw sp immediately without needing to wait 13 weeks. Pretty cool thing i would say.

https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVAKb4gKSbPvubQPMUmFTXMJ3EbHoXLc3fLXx3xBMQHup/image.png

Furthermore i have seen (not sure who said it though) a proposal to burn tokens which are used for promotional purposes. For example, if one want's to promote post and has to pay for instance 5 steem, each interface has right either to burn those tokes (at least some %) or to keep 'em for development purposes.
The only bad thing i can think of when it comes to burning tokens is the fact that tokens are related to RCs and if aiming for mass adoption the more RC out there, the better...

We are pioneering new technology along with the new governance model, those 2 simply can't be easy to manage otherwise we would have witnessed utopia already.

# STREAMING PLATFORM

I think some funds should be directed towards making a decentralized streaming platform(someone needs to make a proposal on this one) . Gaming industry is getting bigger and bigger and i don't think it'll stop here. More and more people are thinking of becoming a streamer. I mean is there a better job out there to make money while playing video games?

Twitch, facebook and similar centralized platforms are way to overcrowded and creating a space for new streamers to begin is by far the most valuable thing we could offer. I won't even talk about how much those platforms are taking from it's audience... Censorship is second most irritating thing those platforms offer. Why shouldn't i have right to say what ever the fuck I want on my stream? Well, obviously i would have get banned after 20 minutes of streaming.

Thankfully we have some time to brainstorm around those ideas couse every single one of them will help us make more utility and more reasons to buy Steem.

This is just me, thinking out loud. Hope you're enjoying the weekend :D

steem has alot to offer, the problem is not enough people doing most stuff on steem as the low price and payouts are discouraging

@pennsif ·
Some interesting ideas.

We already have two streaming platforms on Steem - 3Speak.online and Vimm.tv

3speak just recently added it but vimm needs adjustments as its UI doesn't look very good, and it needs to have its own token economy.

@shadowspub ·
Vimm has accomplished what it has without a lot of support. It would be great to see them make a SPS proposal sometimes soon.
