 When it rains in Japan it can really pour. I'm from the UK so I'm pretty used to the rain but it's very different to the rain that they have in Japan. In the UK I can do without an umbrella most places I go since the rain is not strong and when you're diving in and out of buildings it doesn't bother you too much. Travelling in Japan a lot made me realise that an umbrella is really essential, depending on the season you can get drenched at times. I tend to travel around September/October time for work in Japan so it's typhoon season and you can get caught out easily without warning. Saying that, I think October is one of the better times to travel in Japan as it's not busy and not too humid. I will be back in Japan at the end of May and I'm expecting some hotter weather, so it will be interesting to see how the travel differs in this season. My plan is to stay mainly in the city this time but I hope to show you more interesting locations that might inspire my Steemit followers. While I was looking back at all the imagery I took late last year this series of slightly abstract imagery that I captured in the rain, I thought they showcase the power and the beauty even in the rainy season. I probably won't make a habit to travel in the rainy season too often from now on, as it can be a little inconvenient, but when it comes to weather and travelling you have to take what you get and make the most of it.
