We perceive gravity on a daily basis and now take it for granted. We are pressed into the ground from above by some force and can only move within it with a lot of effort.

But the strength of gravity is determined by the mass from which it emanates. For example, the mass of the Earth is greater than that of our Moon, so gravity on the Earth is greater. Therefore, astronauts can make larger jumps on the moon than here on Earth. Even everyday objects have gravitation and attract the Earth, but because of their weak gravitation, they are drawn to the center of the Earth like us.

What is also interesting - All objects regardless of their property in terms of their mass, fall equally fast in gravity when the experiment takes place in an air free space, i.e. vacuum. In reality, this is influenced by air resistance.

But how did the gravity of the earth originate? Only Einstein with his "General Theory of Relativity" in 1916 could give a satisfactory answer.

He understood gravity not as a force, but as a geometric property of space and time. In his famous formula E=mc^2 he defined the equivalence of mass and energy, which bend space-time in a four-dimensional structure and thus we perceive gravity.
