How My Next Door Neighbor Fell Victim Of Scam.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the hive learners featured post. Today I will be sharing with you a story of how my neighbor fell victim of scam.

My next door neighbor at home was scammed of some money right after lockdown, according to her she said she received a text telling her that the federal government has issued her some money for the covid-19 survival funds, they gave her a number she can contact in order to claim her Prize.

She felt reluctant to call the phone number added in text until another woman in the neighborhood testified that she called and was credited after she was injected with the vaccine, the testimony got her convinced and she finally made move to call the phone number added in the text. All these was going on without the knowledge of her husband just women in the neighborhood knew about it.

She went ahead and called the phone number, they picked and exchanged pleasantries and her case was different as no one asked her to come for a vaccine injection just her account number, Bank Verification Number and some other vital information, including the digits on her ATM card, not been a computer literate and not knowing the harm of what giving out such details could cause, she cooperated with them.

Before she could realize she was dealing with scammers the money in her account was long gone as they used the details she gave them to other stuffs from jumia, the worst part of it is the money belongs to her husband and he claimed it was a huge amount of money tho they refused to disclose the particular amount.

This particular drama almost brought her marriage to the ground if not for neighbors who pleaded with her husband to let everything slide.

About two weeks ago I received that type of message on WhatsApp 😂. I called and the man picked, he asked if I had an account with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and I said no, he said they were going to create an account for me immediately and I should call out the codes I just received, I checked and it was a WhatsApp code.

I asked him what WhatsApp code had in connection to a bank account and he said just call out the codes, I immediately hung up.

These guys are relentless and they just never get tired. I wonder just how long they plan to survive strictly on milking people of their funds. It will all end soon, this craze for money that is sending everyone over the line.

That was so bad for your neighbor, I believe sometimes we should learn to share somethings with people that are close to us. If she had shared with her husband before embarking on the deal with them it would have been better, maybe he would have said no to her. Probably she was trying to get all the money for herself and it costs her her marriage. It is a great lesson. I don't share my bank details with anyone no matter how much you would give me. I can't share it from calls or text messages. Never!!! 😁😁. Thank God for her experience it saved your ass. Thanks for sharing this
