## Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. Once in our lifetime we are faced with something very difficult, something that we give it our all and still find it very difficult to understand the dynamics of how it works or how it is done, and sometimes we have a choice to either keep trying until we finally understand how it works or we have a choice and can stop whenever we want to. In cases where we don't have any other choice other than to learn it no matter how hard and how long it takes, it can make it really frustrating and tiring, but since you have no choice, you just have to show up every day and give it your best shot.

Sometimes having the option to give up when something gets really difficult can be really peaceful and save you from a lot of stress, both mentally and emotionally, and save you from feeling frustrated and wishing it was not that difficult. The truth is things cannot always be a smooth ride; you will definitely encounter those that will stress you and force you to put in more work, which makes it important that we prepare our heart, mind, body, and soul when those difficult things/tasks come knocking. 

Growing up, I was told all you need to know to study engineering in college was general mathematics, physics, and chemistry, but they were hiding the real deal and kept that one a secret, and I believed since I was good in general mathematics, then I was good to go, and I rushed to apply for engineering. I got the admission and was really happy and even had friends start calling me "engineer," but I did not know a price had to be paid before I earned that title. I got to school, and in my 100-level, it was a smooth sail, and I started to ask questions like, "Is this the engineering people say is hard?" 

I thought 200 level was a bit difficult, but we sailed past it, and then we got to 300 level, and I almost lost my sanity. We had thermodynamics to deal with, which was difficult but not as difficult as learning engineering mathematics, which is further mathematics and a combination of other things all in one. The first day in class was when I realized I was going to find it difficult to learn. I did not have to attend the class twice before I knew what was coming, as once was enough. I was lost from the beginning of the class until the end, and the only thing I benefitted from that day was my name I wrote in the attendance list.

I went home and tried to go over what was taught in class, and my head was completely blank; nothing was coming forth. I reached out to some of my coursemates to ask if they understood what was taught, but none could help, and I had to go looking for a tutor. I managed to secure a tutor, and that was how I managed to learn the little I was able to grab, just enough to help me pass the course, and after I saw my result, I prayed never to come across a course like engineering mathematics again.
